I've read War of the Ancients series, which was actually pretty good imo, Stormrage was decent, all by Richard Knaak, but I haven't read Arthas, Thrall, or any of the books pre-WoW...

I may get Wolfheart..

anyone read any of these, are they worth the effort?

I'm asking but I have a Song of Ice and Fire series sitting here that needs to be read.

Read ASOIAF first. I read one or two of the WoW books and have the rest sitting on my harddrive, just haven't gotten around to them. I liked the ones that I did read though.

from what i've heard the arthas one was pretty fantastic and will also show you why everyone is so (rightfully so) butthurt over what they did to his character due to WoW.

I don't remember the names because it's been a couple years... but I read one with the Frostwolf Clan and another about Deathwing being trapped in some mountain and that red-hair mage from the Northrend Sanctuary was on a quest to do something.

I'm tempted now. Damnit!

I also read the halo books. Good back story, which is why I'm pissed about halo 2, 3, and reach.

I read a manga I was given by a friend.

Does that count?

I generally don't read books on hobby or game lore, because they don't show up in libraries. Much to my chagrin.

As Mazel said, read ASOIAF first. Not a question, lol.

The Medivh book was good, and Kara miffed me after reading it lol. I too have also heard really good things the Arthas books.
