It isn't always that black and white. Sometimes, people don't understand why they are compelled to do things, or they find themselves filling niches opened by forces bigger than they are.

Let me give you an example. Have you ever wondered why there is so much pointless hassle and arbitrary selection and mindless harassment in today's world? Why they feel compelled to grope people at the airport, or why things like education and medical care involve so much arbitrary selection? These kinds of things evolve out of mass psychology to keep a troubled society stable, through identifying and neutralizing individuals who might be inclined to disrupt the status quo.

Very few people recognize the constant that is the actual reason for such nonsense but it is so anyway. Like I said, human motives don't always line up with the vastly larger reasons people do what they do.

So, are you saying that a TSA agent who gropes someone at airport security, and pisses them off...so the person being groped talks back, and is subsequently arrested and detained for 72 hours....is acting as part of a larger psychology and motivation to root out dissenters and free-thinkers?

Are you saying that this TSA agent, subconsciously, is working to find the troublemakers which then all the lemmings will see and realize "yeah, I just need to keep my head down"

And are you saying that this is an epidemic across the entire country/world...and that it's all part of some mass psychological "dumbing down" or homogenization of humanity?

Yes.

Also consider how the behavior of other animals like rats, chickens or pigs changes when you stuff a lot of them very close together. Or how the main cause of diseases like TB or dysentery or plague is severe overpopulation. That kind of behavior is actually programmed in at the organic level as a sort of defense mechanism.

And yes Azelma, WikiLeaks is how it should work. Was incredibly disheartening to see Julian Assange targeted the way he was (I'm normally not a conspiracy theorist, but everything that happened to him screamed an attempt at a government cover-up job).

I think that treating this as anything other than blatant governmental overreach is ignoring a problem. A small group of glorified script kiddies don't warrant this kind of attention. DDoSing does nothing beyond tell a company/government "ha ha, we can inconvenience you and make the frontpage of some news sites." The only people who merited attention (not necessarily action) were the ones who knocked over Stratfor, and even then the attention should've been to offer them a job.

If destruction exists, we must destroy everything.

Pretty much what Tuhl said. I disagree with the part about job offers though.

If I throw a hand grenade for the lulz, I wouldn't expect a job offer from the Marine Corps.
