And I think it stems from being real young, climbing up on our deck railing to look at some bluebird eggs to see if they'd hatched, and I bumped something and an egg fell out and broke. The inside was a more or less developed baby bluebird..but it was just..disturbing.
Somewhat related: we had a guy on overnights with us from Trinidad. He would bring in the weirdest, most foul looking shit to eat.
One time I literally saw him break open an egg and there was a half developed chicken inside. He was plucking feathers from his teeth.
Became known as 'bird-abortion sandwich' from that lol, when my friend and I talk about memories from when he worked overnights.
