And Ron Paul is a demogogue that will destroy America in the non-eventuality that he gets elected - but of course everyone who can understand this already has.

Ron Paul is really the personification of everything that is wrong with America today, which is why he's feted.

People want to be told what they like to hear, and that's what he says, which is why he's a demagogue.

He tells people:

-they can have everything they want by making even fewer sacrifices than they already are
-that the best thing they can do for their country is to indulge themselves
-that their neighbor's problems are none of their business

That viewpoint is the textbook definition of demagoguery. It is a constant in all times and places.

The fact he advocates legalizing weed is a facet of that underlying theme of demagoguery. It is yet another example of self-indulgence, making no sacrifices, and thinking one's neighbor's problems aren't' anyone else's concerns. It is a recipe for national disaster.

Ron Paul is to you what President Obama is to Rush Limbaugh.

Rush Limbaugh is ignorant and hateful, sees the world through the lens of ignorance and hate, and appeals to ignorance and hate.

Whatever valid points he may have - and he does have some - are drowned out by his emphasis on ignorance and hate above all else.

I am not ignorant, and I'm not motivated by hate.

And for what it's worth, I'm no fan of Obama either. Obama is, to me, the consummate politician. Vaguely well-meaning but controlled by his own lack of imagination and boldness, his inability to be a leader.

I understand Ron Paul better than his own supporters do. I understand his ideas, what they represent, and why they won't work any better now than they have in the past.

All of which is lost on his supporters, who always speak in broad generalizations but always seem to know nothing of history or the other topics relevant to Ron Paul's platform. A platform consisting of ideas that seem crazy to anyone who isn't American and basically uneducated.

Do you think that's a coincidence? Do you? Honest question.
