Ever been caught singing a song that is WAY out of your range?


It's slightly embarassing.


My song was:

I have this problem in either direction. My range is like 2 and a half scales at best, so if it's high and power-metaly I can't do it and if it's low without being growled I also can't do it.

Not a lot of songs I can't sing, honestly. The trouble I have is adjusting my chords between varying highs and lows...if that makes any sense. The type of breathing I have to do is different depending on whether I sing bass or tenor, and if I stray into a different range, it becomes difficult.

If you were serious about doing a certain piece, you could put it in a key that would be easier for you, in a lot of cases...not that you can do that when singing along with the radio.

I cannot sing at all. When I was in my early teens I got pharyngitis extremely bad, like to the point of coughing up blood all of the time. I was playing spring soccer and would run up and down the field spitting blood every couple of yards until my coach forced me to sit and said he would not play me until I got better. My voice sounds fine when I speak but when I put any strain on it I sound like a person that has smoked for 70 years. When I cough it sounds worse, lol. My mom did not realize i had been hiding how bad it was so I could play soccer until she saw me benched and the coach told her why.

9 level 90s and 10 85s, Damn I need another hobby.

I can't death growl or do pussy ass -core screams, but luckily for me I don't even listen to black/death metal or any -core bands.

That's because anything ending in the suffix -core is automatically total shit.
