WHO ARE YOU AND WHY ARE YOU HERE?

PS: enjoying the multiple ads that tell me how I could improve my life by buying a bucket of some sort

Obviously moderator corruption. I blame Mayo.

If you dont pay for the site, you dont get to bitch. The only way i would have an issue is if I started getting emails from the Ad site that is here. Otherwise its useless ramblings and normal.

Also, if we want to get rid of the adds, we could all just click on them repeatedly. It would show up as abnormal on Google's reporting (with the same few people clicking), and they would charge bucketguild.com with click fraud and ban them from AdSense.

That would be mean though.

I say we just ignore them.

I'm not bitching, I'm just wondering where they came from, especially considering that I've been lurking these boards since the summer and have seen no instances of ads or ad software.

Could it be phpBB? I vaguely recall seeing ads like this all the time back in 2004 when I was the admin of a fansite, and I used phpBB. Of course, it's been seven years, and this variation of the software is probably the paid sort. Plus, it's a privately-owned server. So I'm just wondering where these ugly looking ads are coming from.

1) For the billionth time, I'm not the webmaster.
2) Cough up or stop bitching.
3) Adblock.

EDIT: Nick probably put them up due to all of the traffic from fubu.

I've had NoScript running with Google Syndication unblocked for ages. Still, the ads had never been present prior to today. But whatever, blocked.

I think it's a sign we're coming up in the world...like, it's worth the effort to put ads here.

I don't really think it is. I'd like to see the numbers...I'm sure the ads will get a ton of impression but the CTR (Click-thru rate) will be terribly low. Mostly because the only people who come here are us...and we won't click them ha.

I figured the banner was a dead give away that we already had buckets. Clearly in need of a bucket upgrade!

Edit: "Man, I really need a new bucket. I wish there was somewhere to buy buckets online but I have no idea where to start. OH, thanks useful ad, just what I needed!"
