Today I went to the USPS office and tried to mail a package to Canada. I was told the Canadian postal service had mutinied, and due to the general breakdown in law and order, my package could not be accepted for delivery.

This never happens in America at least.

Canada Post locked out their employees because the union and canada post couldn't reach an agreement.

The government is going to pass legislation soon to force them back to work. *

*or at least they claimed they were going to as soon as the lockout occured.

So "mutiny" means "went on strike." The USPS has an interesting notion of how things work, apparently.

I don't think a strike is the same as the company locking its workers out. *

*Although I think they threatened to strike anyway... I haven't really been following it though so I'm not entirely sure.

edit: they went on rotating strikes in Toronto and montreal which lead to Canada post reacted by locking out all postal workers accross the nation.

Heh, so the Post is at fault and American employees think to blame Canadian postal workers.

That's even worse.

If the demands of postal workers up there are as out of phase as the expectations of the gummint employees down here, I think there's enough blame to spread between both the Postal Service and the employee unions.

I ordered 7 pounds of beef jerky that hasn't moved for a week, saddest week of my life.

For fathers day my wife bought me a 10lb box of Buttered Popcorn Jelly Bellies from Amazon. (I love them because everyone hates them so they don't touch my fucking jelly beans)... No strikes kept me from 10lbs of deliciousness.

http://www.amazon.com/Jelly-Belly-Butte ... 561&sr=8-5

If you go to Amazon and look for 'Amazon Mom', you can get a free year of 'Amazon Prime' (depending on how much you spend), which will give you free two-day shipping on most items. I don't think there is any way to verify that you're a parent (or caregiver) so that's a way to get it faster and for free.

Enjoy.

I don't understand, doesn't Rabid live in Canada? Why would jerky be coming from NY, considering all rabid does is jerk all day?

Rabid sits in a log cabin and makes every jerky from every animal. IIRC Dan's still waiting on some anteater Jerky.

PS: Nk's talking about coming to Ohio over the summer, you should join him and bring Fant/Shoes so we can larp irl.
