I'm always amused how republicans are allegedly so concerned about race, yet the only people dwelling on it aren't republicans.

Democrats are just being racist because they don't want to see a black man become president. They don't like Cain because he's a smart and successful black man and it's showing by their attempt to discredit him based solely on ACCUSATIONS and ALLEGATIONS. Last I checked people aren't guilty of anything unless there is proven guilt... and what we have is a couple ladies (with ties to interests which would benefit from seeing Cain fail) saying things that might not be true.

Remember when Obama was accused of a bunch of things and how it was just kinda pushed aside because it wasn't proven to be true? Oh, love those double standards.

If this was one woman making an accusation, okay.
If this were a bunch of women, making accusations during election season, okay.
If the accusations were made by a host of people linked by some cause, okay.
If the accusations were found to be baseless, okay.

But none of those qualifiers apply. This is a string of allegations made by different individuals over a long period of time, and the allegations were serious enough to get paid off. He didn't just hit on these women, by multiple independent accounts he was groping them.

These womens' allegations are provably not connected to the election because the allegations were raised a decade ago before Cain running for president was even vaguely considered.

It's not a double standard because Obama didn't actually "do" anything (what are you even referring to?) whereas Cain has already been proven to have committed serious misdeeds.

Cain is a "smart and successful black man", okay. But he's not smart or successful enough to warrant a presidential bid...except insofar as he's a black man. That is proof of racism - that people talk him up because his race is the elephant in the room and props up a figure who would otherwise be an empty suit.

You want to talk about double standards. Here's one for you. Let's compare this to the Penn State pedo case. In both cases, you have many people, making the same accusations, independently, over a course of many years. Shouldn't we consider this case as valid?

What's the difference except insofar as this guy is a GOP candidate - and, after all, doesn't that coach, who is known to have been party to abhorrent things, still have people who refuse to accept he's guilty no matter the evidence?
