Then again, considering how student loans work, higher education in general is a scam.
A scam you have to get on board with if you want a job.
Pretty much this.
Look at how much tuition costs have risen in the last 30 or so years (yes, even in the not-for-profit space) and you can't tell me that all of higher education isn't pretty much a scam.
Case and point...my ex girlfriend attended Kenyon College.
Good school? Sure. You know how much it costs a year? $42,630 as of 2011/2012
What degrees do they offer?

Aside from English, other majors Kenyon offers are: Art (Studio), Art History, Dance and Drama, Film, Music, Modern Languages, Philosophy, Religious Studies, Classics, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Neuroscience, Physics, Psychology, Anthropology, Economics, History, Political Science, Sociology, American Studies, International Studies, and Women's and Gender Studies.
I'm sorry but I don't see how paying $170,520 or more for a degree in Gender Studies, or Film Studies, or Art History, or Philosophy, or Religious Studies, or Classics, or American Studies, etc. can be seen as anything but a giant rip off.
