Me: Doc, my nose won't work for breathing.
Doc: Oh. You have a huge tumor growing in your left sinus. $$LOL$$!!
Me: Wat?
Doc: Don't worry! It's only a 10-15% chance of being cancer.
Me: Wat?
Doc: Probably should clear your calendar. We'll need to remove that next week b/c if it's cancer... But, it's probably not.
Me: I don't even.
Doc: Take all these meds pre-op, then we'll take that out through your nose...it's very cool really.
Last week:
Doc: We took that out. It looked like an eel! Pretty cool. Hello? Are you awake?
Me: *drool
Doc: We sent it to pathology. We'll get back with you on the cancer thing.
Me; *drool
Doc: Oh, and there was a lot of bleeding. We had to leave a sponge in your head. LOL! We'll get that out soon.
Monday:
Doc: This might hurt. I hope you took some hydro before you came up here.
Me: SON OF A BITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!
Doc: Can you believe this sponge was in your head and we just pulled it out through your nose? LOL!
Me: SON OF A BITCH!!!!
Doc: Oh. Pathology came back. Not cancer. Grats. In fact, it wasn't even a papilloma. So no worries.
Me: SON OF A BITCH!!!
So, ya. Really glad to NOT have cancer, but this whole thing reminded me of women who find a lump and the medical community just acts like, "Just do what you do until we figure this out. We'll get back to you." It's kind of hard not to go over the "what ifs" while you're waiting.
So, Happy Thanksgiving to me! And, to all of you, as well.
