Game is stupid easy when you know what perks/enchants to get honestly, even on the highest difficulty.

I kinda had to force myself to not take specific perks just to make it more challenging.

I have NO clue where to put my perks. I want to take some of everything! But I also want the higher up stealth and archery stuff...

Since I'm very dependent on sneak, when I get discovered and rushed by something with a lot of armor, I have a hard time winning. Should I have a back-up spec for when I need to go face-to-face with something? Perhaps destruction?

halp!

Weapon skill. Though once you get silent running. Game switches to easymode.

Investing some points into one-handed weapon perks --- even just the damage buff --- can make a huge difference in how much damage you do. Even though most mobs get oneshotted pretty easily once you get the 15x backstab perk, it's always nice to know that you can still fuck shit up with your flimsy little dagger should you be discovered.

My first character's build was primarily Sneak/Archery/One-Handed/Light Armor, and I really liked playing it, especially after I got the Nightingale Armor and Bow. Then I went with a Destruction/Conjuration mage and I loved that, too. And now I've got a Two-Handed/Heavy Armor warrior build that's just as fun. So you really don't even need to specify in order to create the most enjoyable playing experience. Pure or hybrid, it's fun all the same.

i have literally never played an elder scrolls game before, and had 0 problems with Skyrim in the week I played it, on master difficulty.

you honestly can not make it difficult unless you level completely based off of non combat shit, and even then, you can just abuse the terrain because no enemy can move past a rock in the ground, or a corridor.

Played it on the macbook, so the graphics were only set to medium. Playing a mage on a decked out PC with a better gfx card was A LOT of fun. Flames look like movie quality flamethrowers, everything is gorgeous, etc.

Difficulty was alright. I have no clue how melee would first begin killing dragons, but with bow or spells, it's pretty simple. Another thing is the dragons vs. giants difficulty... Take dragon's breath to the face, still manage to kill a dragon under 3 minutes. Kite a giant for 15 minutes, die instantly when his club skims you.

my mele character one shots dragons...blood and lower...

I am THE man.

yeah sneak+archer+daedric weapons = everything is 1 shot before it even knows you're there.

I tried a 2h melee character but even that was pretty easy once i got some of the better 2h perks.

I bought the kids a ps3 for Christmas, so I am thinking about getting Skyrim soon. My buddy Dan is obsessed with it, so hopefully I will enjoy it just as much.

I've heard that Skyrim on the PS3 is particularly buggy - confirm/deny?

The PS3 version is the buggiest by far, although I'm pretty sure that they've released patches to fix most of the gamebreaking bugs, especially the lag that would come into play only several dozen hours after starting.

If Skyrim is anything like previous Bethesda games ported to or made for console, that "lag" was a result of eating up the memory, which you could fix by saving the game and allowing the buffers to clear, or saving and clearing the buffers manually with a restart. Morrowind for the original XBox was terrible for that, so much so that it often would crash.

I remember Morrowind on the Xbox (I played it on both PC and Xbox). The lagg/crashing was upsetting...especially if you'd completed a bunch of quests etc. and then it crashed and you were like FFFUUUUUUUUUUUUU

I've had no issues with lag or any bugs (yet) on my Xbox 360.
