And Aestu, relationship building doesn't always directly affect the bottom line. If I meet with a business partner for dinner just to get to know him better...yeah I'm working to eventually get better pricing. However, unless I directly get a better price then our bottom line wasn't affected.
lol
It does or it doesn't.
Absolutely false. The relationships are already established. We're just meeting them in person to have a meal/drink and chat about other potential opportunities. It wont result in a direct CPL increase, but COULD uncover other opportunities that we would pursue further down the road. It's not so clear cut as "if we meet with them, we will make more money" or "if we don't meet with them we won't make more money." We don't NEED to meet with them.

Worth pointing out - if you score a contract worth more than $10k as a result of inviting these people (or get a sum of price cuts as such) you're in the black.
Bringing employees would have literally zero impact on this. They won't be meeting with any clients, just going to sessions.

Back to the question of morale. I think you'd agree that no one is going to quit over this. But what about five, or ten, instances of such dbag behavior? What's the cost of recruiting, training and equipping a new employee, plus cost of severance? Take that figure and divide it by - five, ten, or whatever. And like I said, there are substantial savings to be had billing this as a company vacation.
Between retention, sick leave, and potential contracts, as well as cutting some corners with the trip allowances, I think you'd be hard pressed to argue that the savings and benefits of inviting more people aren't at least equal to $10k in additional costs.
1) You're ignoring what I said - we are bringing anyone who wants to go. Offered it to everyone. The hope is that not everyone decides to go because truthfully, we WONT make any more money bringing non-key employees. The benefit they will get is 1.) Fun trip to vegas, so more good will/loyalty to the company 2.) Going to sessions at the conference could help them learn something that makes them better at their jobs. That's it.

Anyway I'm headed back to ignoring you - though I do appreciate your advice...until you started asking endless questions and started hurling insults.
Azelma being Azelma.
Questions? Why are questions a problem? Do you not like the answers, or do you prefer to remain ignorant?
Yeah, Azelma being Azelma. "Tell me anything but that I can't do no wrong."
You remain ignorant of what my company does, what I do, and really how our entire business functions. You claim to be so smart, but you don't know the first thing about my job...yet claim you do. Hilarious.
