I love getting the emails that my Aion account is under investigation when I have never played the game. I was actually considering selling my ToR account already. I just can't seem to get into the game right now plus I turned my second wow account back on to twink at 78 on my priest. Oh well, I guess I will hold on to it for a while.

Dan's been playing it and a couple rl friends have got it. They've said nothing but good things about it. Needless to say, I'm taking some of the money from selling my account to try out ToR and I'm getting it tonight.

It's plenty of fun and has plenty of users, so to claim it's crashing and burning already is more premature than Azelma's first time with a girl.

Userbase is definitely totally retarded, but that's par for the course in any MMO.

So I just got onto the second world (the worlds are like the zones in WoW, each one is for a set amount of levels). Here's my initial impressions:

PROS:
- Most of the dark-side convo options are awesome.
- A lot of the abilities are pretty cool (running to an enemy, blasting up in the air, and punching someone in the face is pretty neat).
- Character customization is nice.
- The group dynamic of social points is interesting.
- The ease of life changes are nice (ex. you don't set your hearthstone, you can teleport to cities along the map as long as you activate some terminal in them).
- Class quests are back.
- Professions aren't a total grindfest (at least so far).
- Companions are nifty.
- The music's great.

CONS:
- Its WoW with lightsabers.
- It suffers from the same monotony of the whole "good/asshole/bad" dialogue complex of DA2.
- The game's really buggy. I can understand some bugs, but things like people becoming black blobs in conversations and casting abilities only to have them do nothing is pretty inexcusable.
- The people who sperg whenever people don't like the game is already maddening. I've never seen such rampant dicksucking in my life.
- A lot of things are needlessly explained to you in great detail, while other crucial things (read: how your class works, advanced specs) aren't explained at all. If I didn't have Dan helping me start out, I'd be entirely lost. You're given so many abilities so quickly that even me, a veteran WoW player, is getting overwhelmed. A lot of them also don't make sense (ex. I was just given a shot that can only be used when a DoT is on the target. As far as I know, I don't have any DoTs yet.)
- I haven't done it yet, but I guess in PVP everyone's in the same bracket, with lower levels having their stats buffed up to be equal to a level 50 to compensate. It seems like a cool idea, but the lower levels don't get any different abilities.
- The systematic crackdown of EA ala DA2 about anyone that talks shit about the game on their forums.

VERDICT:
Take Vanilla WoW and DA2 and put them together with a gallon of asperger's and EA. Unless some major changes happen, I don't see it being a WoW-killer. I don't see myself playing past my free month unless the gameplay gets a lot better (I know there's space battles, but so far its the incredibly monotonous vanilla-esque quests with karma, which I suppose is its own grind later on in the game).

EDIT: This is also my final strike for Bioware. I should've listened to my gut and avoided it.

Mayo are you a trooper/commando? The High impact bolt has a couple of uses depending on your spec. If you are Assault specialist then you should be using the plasma cell, which puts a dot on your target. If you are gunnery you get a spell called gravity round in the third tier of the tree which allows you to HIB any target affected by the debuff. If you aren't a commando nvm lol.

Mayo, the Sith and Republic classes are mirrors except the abilities have different names and the animations are distinct. That shot you get that requires a dot eventually becomes useful.
