I still don't know what this poor girl, her shitty situation, and the bad decisions she and/or her family made have anything to do with pro-lifers/republicans. I'm pretty sure that even in the most backwards parts of Georgia that they'll deliver a baby if you just go to the fucking hospital to have it. You don't have to scissor it into a toilet and strangle it just because some people frown on out-of-wedlock pregnancies.

At 14, based on what I've read, she was probably in a situation close to what Aestu described. Either way, she was probably taken advantage of whether by family or not. I'm leaning towards she was taken advantage of by some random guy. She obviously didn't know what to do. She could have had it and taken it to the fire department or w/e. No questions asked. Had it been a family abuse thing, I'm sure they could have done the same thing and never had to worry about it.
Then again, it's Polk County and like everyone he is fuck all stupid (read: my ex).
What I think he meant by pro-lifers is that this would have been a prime example of when an abortion would have been better than the alternative. But pro-lifers would rather make a child carry a baby to term, and then disregard afterwards, only to talk about how terrible she is when shit like this goes down. In Florida, parents must be notified 48 hours before an abortion for a minor. Obviously this was not something she felt she was able to do, since her family didn't know about the pregnancy.
Also, dropping the baby off at the fire department requires the baby to be under 7 days old. Since she's 14, she's not driving, so it may not have been feasible for her to do that. She likely would have had to tell someone about the baby, and for whatever reason she felt that was not an option. You really think a 14 year old girl might know that sort of information? They don't teach this shit in school, you know.
I misread as he didn't know what their situation was lol. Not what their situation had to do with pro-lifers D:
On your second part, I meant to imply she didn't know what to do, not that she did. It was some sort of stretch in my mind like
"Okay, if she has been taken advatange of, then she wouldn't know what to do, therefore she was probably taken advantage of. If she wasn't, then she knew what she was doing and probably knew she had options." something like that but my mind is just bleh right now. And actually, they taught us that in school.
I didn't know the baby had to be under 7 days. I just read that it to be younger than a year. Looking it up I see that Florida is 7 days as you said. Though, I don't see why that really matters.
Like I said, all I was saying was that she was probably taken advantage of because she didn't have the information she needed. That's not to say it's a sure thing, it's just not too uncommon for a 19-22 year old to start banging a 13-14 year old.
