Zero.

I've been playing since release, and have never thought about/tried to quit. I don't see my WoW sub as something evil that keeps me from having a life/doing other things, which is why I'm on a lot less during the weekend.

I started playing at release, played straight through TBC with maybe a couple days/weeks/a month inactive here and there. I was never like I QUIT FOREVER, GOODBYE SIR. Other than saying that to Mayo like 300 times because it made him mad. I actually wasn't planning on playing WotLK at all, but I got laid off THE DAY it was released. I had a ton of new-found free time so I was like fuck that, picked it up right away. I became increasingly busier with other stuff and less interested in WoW as it went along.

Didn't uninstall, didn't cancel anything (other than my recurring subscription), didn't change my password or delete anything. Haven't played in about a year. I've popped in a few times when I've gotten a scroll/free trial just to say hello but didn't play at all.

How often do you play WoW, like 4 hours a day? How are you going to fill those 4 hours when you instantly cut the game out of your life? Look at the root of your problem, not the symptoms.

Twice.

The first time was in May of 2009 a few weeks after Ulduar had been released. I wasn't guilded on my rogue and didn't feel like playing another character, so I stopped playing altogether for about two months. I started leveling my priest when I came back that summer and hit 80 after a few months of casual play, and I haven't raided current content on my rogue since.

The second time was around April of this year. LastOneStanding had fallen apart due to a lack of attendance on Thursdays/Sundays and I was burned out from raiding. I got together with a few friends for a PMR team, but that led to a falling out and I eventually got burned out from arena too. I ended up quitting in either late April or early May and didn't play for the summer.

To be honest, though, that lack of play over the summer really helped me out. I had the time and motivation to work out a hell of a lot more frequently and got a band formed with a few friends. So I'm now a swolebeast frontman. Hoorah.

Edit: Had I know of this game then, I'd probabaly have played at release. I was still playing console FPS games and Phantom Dust.

I never have to make a conscious effort to stop playing WoW, because I don't play it to the point of having to quit.

Cata will come out, I'll spike at about 10-20 hours a week for a few weeks, and naturally drop off.

Once because i was starting a semester at University so i stopped playing on my first toon on Cenarius. That lasted a month or two once Azmaria rerolled on BH and i had to follow.

That was the only time, however brief, that i intentionally quit the game.

Amazed i ever graduated.

I would quit if certain people stopped playing.

Once. I quit back in March. Haven't touched it since and don't plan to until I feel the need to. It'll have to to be able to fit in my schedule though and if it doesn't then I won't start again.

No comment about trying to quit wow or any type of medicinal or non-medicinal drugs.

Playing since Nov '05, never really quit the game, but I did quit some of the major time-sinks (raiding) when Bucket died. Although there are some great people and guilds in the game, I just don't see myself having a great time raiding anymore. Ironically, my playtime is higher on the weekdays lol
