I'm staying away from crafting for a while because everything on the AH is fucking bonkers in price right now (meta gems for 800 gold? no thanks).

I don't think I've fed the DK enough crap to get his to that point yet. I'm stuck until I phase into the Wildhammer vendor and can get the shit to make the low-end relics to level.

Well, late last night I finally hit an average ilevel of 329. I got pretty lucky with drops which put me over the top. If you peak my armory, you can also see that I've enchanted a bunch...mostly because I don't like feeling like a gimp.

I'm considering trying to heal heroics...but I hear it's kind of a bitch, so I'm thinking I will do lulz DPS for a while and try to build up better gear so I can actually start healing.

It really depends on your tank and/or healer. Fights in heroics are made easier by dps but are lost and won by the quality of your tank and healer.

A dk with 130k health fully buffed is gonna be a world of hurt especially with no cc. And still painful even with cc. On the other hand you get a paladin with 150k unbuffed and a decent block percentage you can probably chain pull everything wrath style with little to no trouble at all.

Short of healing intensive fights I've carried any number of bad healers. All depends on what you get in your group.

I got through my first heroic PuG last night (Grim Batol). It took 2 and a half hours. We had a few wipes on bosses, and we had 1 healer leave and several DPS randomly leave...but we got it done.

When everyone knew their assignments and didn't screw up, things went smoothly. When people had brain farts...we wiped.

Grim Batol is one of the hardest as its not about gear as much as awareness and not being retarded. But its a good starter as most of the others are a cakewalk.

None of the fights are really a DPS race. I mean, sure, the tank and healer have to be relatively geared, but it's not really a big deal for the other three mongoloids. The first boss is a cakewalk as long as nobody lags out and the second boss is just a kitefest that makes me go OOM within the first two or three stances depending on what degree of down's the group has.

The third boss is terrible just because of the people I've grouped with so far. The only "good" run I've had was with Zaryi and Usd, and the three of us were pretty undergeared at the time anyway. We kept fucking wiping on him because of the two idiot pugs and their apparent inability to move from the goddamn elementals and dragon fire.

Yeah, I don't like GB. :/

My thought on pugs is this. So far I have only run on my two DPS toons at 85. My hunter is not geared enough for heroics but GB is a blast when you have a good tank. The second our tank last night realized that I knew what a trap launcher was, he started calling for CC. I would trap mine, wait for my cd, then drop a second trap at is feet. The shaman would do cc from time to time and the lock did not know you could glyph fear, so we just let him pew pew. Quick, easy, 0 wipe run.

The night before I ran heroic GB on Baneleaf. The tank refused to let people cc, in fact he broke them saying he did not need cc. Our saving grace was the fact that he could not break banish but apparently tried to vote to kick me twice for using it. Several wipes, several healers and other dps took off, and finally we voted to kick the tank, waited ten minutes, and got a good pally tank who immediately assigned cc and pulled perfect.

This expansion focuses alot on tanks preformance and their ability not to oom healers before a mob dies on trash. Healers have it rough at points because of mana efficiency and undergeared dps can draw out a fight forever, but real tanks are in shortage for the most part.

9 level 90s and 10 85s, Damn I need another hobby.

Yes, it's awesome. Vanessa VanCleef is probably the best heroic encounter atm.

Yeah, 3rd boss was where we had most of our wiping issues too. Mostly baddies were eating fire elementals over and over. I finally got them to understand "theres a spot on the ground where the thing spawns before it actually spawns...when you see it...run the fuck awayyyyy!!!"

It was all worth it coz i got a main hand and this:

Confirm. Vanessa herself isn't anything special, but the dream stuff Mario-style before you get to pull her is pretty awesome.

Last boss of Grim Batol is pretty fun.

I don't think the effort is worth it. I mean perhaps if i was to level archaeology on all my toons which aren't my DK or Warrior or Paladin right. Use Archaeology to level them to 85 and save my troll fragments. Repeat this. Keep doing it until i get the sword. THEN i can level my Warrior/Paladin/DK and use the sword.

I think Wrath has ruined me in the sense that i don't view loot as important anymore. Because i have it in my head that in 6 months there's going to be a new raid tier and new arena tier and i will replace it without even trying. Thus i don't view the huge amount of effort required in farming it to be actually worth it.

In all the randoms I've done Corla is the boss I've probably wiped on the most. It is such a simple encounter and yet people fuck it up over and over again.

And yeah screw arch in general, the rewards aren't that great for the time you've got to invest.

It's nice that most of the stuff is BoA, but the low level boa gear is worse than the heirlooms with no scaling. The pets/mounts/fluff items are all bop, so once you've got the mount/pet from fossils, there is no reason to ever use a fossil site again (which you need to eventually to get new sites).
