I know, but because of the blatancy of this current event being twisted in manners to really sad political means- I honestly felt compelled to post a lot of facts I came across on it rather than just ranting an opinion.

& in response to Nec, I really consider it more of a current event/news post rather than political / religion topic. I, like many came to Fubu because we can speak and discuss and also goof off without fear of banhammer, and the mods have thus far done a fairly decent job of not abusing their positions, as long as we don't get too crazy with our posting.

So why is everyone jumping down his throat for making another thread? Get over yourselves and don't read it if it bothers you that much. inb4 retards who have some complex that they much click on every new thread so it is marked as read.

My only real concern about this issue is really that they focused on the congresswoman a lot more than the poor child who died, or anyone else who died. If it were up to me, as soon as I found out she was in better shape than dead, I would have focused on the victims who weren't so lucky.

Also, I believe this was more of a call for attention than anything else, and that he should be punished as harshly as humanly possible.

Kid was insane so I doubt he did what he did for any political reason that would make any sense.

However, his target was a member of Congress, not some random person on the street. Shooter McCrazypants goes outside and starts shooting random if he doesn't have a reason to pick a specific target, or possibly someone he knows and is projecting something onto. He goes and tries to assassinate a political figure for political reasons, even if they're fucking crazy.

They might be political reasons all his own, but they're probably at least somewhat born from something he heard about said political figure.

Crazy mother fucker went crazy and shot people. It sucks, the medial will be all over it, innocent people died, and there will be a book/movie out by the fall. Them medias job is to create hype so you watch their shows and by newspapers. The unfortunate part is that this probably could have been prevented.

I would have to agree two threads with identical content would be annoying,

yet (idc b/c) I fail to see a lot of the facts I posted in my OP anywhere in the other thread, & especially would have been a little out of place with the current convos going on.

His friends say he hated the news, and didn't listen or watch tv... that rules out typical media. Another friend says he thinks he was influenced by film Zeitgeist. Which I think is probably an ignorant statement of the friend- b/c the one that stated that hadn't talked to him in awhile, and I think pulled naming the movie out of his arse as a suggestion. Not that I'm a huge Zeitgeist fan or anything, there were a few parts in it I found interesting or well presented.

it's bad enough the media turned this into a political issue, but do I really need a hour long live feed of a 9 year old girl's funeral? Complete with school chums and friends saying nice things to a background collage of pictures. I get that she died and it's sad, but jesus, there WAS like 5 other people that died, yet besides the congresswoman I've yet to see any of them even mentioned.
