Countless times now drama/fights have broken out because someone posted something on Facebook they shouldn't have and then the offended party removes said person followed by the original person being pissed they removed them and/or talking about the offended persons status, etc, etc, etc.
Because before facebook, nobody's gotten pissed off at an e-mail, IM, phone call, or letter, right?
I'm pretty sure most problems with facebook are problems with people communicating in general, just in a different medium.
People have gotten pissed off before but it didn't result in an E-tantrum and a lot of gossip involving some dumb social networking site.
You're right, it ended in some sort of real life tantrum (or a vicious e-mail/letter/whatever back) and a lot of gossip involving some dumb email/letter/phone call/whatever.
Facebook's basically a mix of AIM and a forum full of your irl friends, and you have no problem with either one of those by themselves. Together, however, they magically become some blight of humanity.
I highly doubt the tantrums happened as often or as many people would know about it. Facebook just makes it all very public.
It's a mix of AIM and a forum full of your friends but that doesn't mean I want to see spam about a million quizzes or uploads. Given, there probably is (or I'd hope there is) an option to disable most of that spam.
Point is, it's not just a social networking site, people spend hours and hours playing dumb games and doing dumb tests, not to mention spending real life dollars. That in addition to all the unwanted drama going on is what I don't like about it.
Perhaps you're right however and I just think it's really bitchy and trendy and I want no part of it.
