You can already run heroics in the style of Wrath. As long as everyone knows what they're doing. Foe Reaper 5000 is the biggest cockblock fucking ever.

if we have a hunter in the group I usually volunteer to do it myself because I hate wiping on that crap. Or if i'm on a dps character even if it's my mage I still do it.

LFD absolutely killed my desire to tank in Cata. I have 7 (yes 7) toons that can tank. Four are level capped, one in Cata, one still in Wrath, one just hit BC and one is a side project at around 20. I HATE tanking with random retards who dont attack what is marked, refuse to CC, and refuse to listen. The only toon I actively tank on is my DK because our alt run needed a tank. My poor paladin has been sitting in SW, logging in to run guildies through Wrath dungeons and occasionally doing the fishing daily. This new LFD function is not going to encourage the good tanks to run randoms, it will encourage the paint eaters to grab a shield and try to tank in dps gear.

Not only will this encourage morons who should never tank to tank, badly and while wearing DPS gear, it's going to cause a shitstorm of hate and discontent. Anyone playing a class that can't tank is going to be super-pissed. The actual fix to this would be to change mechanics so that DPS share as much of the burden for success/failure as the tank and healer, instead of constantly gimmicking things up for one role.

DPS does share just as much of the burden, they just take 0 responsibility. I love asking locks if they are glyphed for fear and getting 'duh whatcha mean" or mages if they glyphed poly not to break on dots. All I know is my guild is about to hit level 23 tonight and we have a few groups lined up to chain run heroics, but as guild groups, and then its back to lfd retardation for a while.

I find the tanks who have to have everything done exactly how they want to a thousand times more frustrating than the dps who do dick, considering they can be carried.

I remember doing heroics with the Dans (Danzor and Neart) as 3 dps. We did the first pull in some heroic completely fine but after the pull, the tank nerdraged at us for not killing things in the right order and he left with his healer friend.

Prima Donna tanks and the guildies they tag along so they can't get kicked ruined the LFD system for me, considering you have 25-35 minutes to wait around only to get some asshole who rolls need on mutual loot for "repair bills" and lots of people just bite their lip since finding tanks is a bitch.

I'd rather have the tank that takes the time to plot the pull and marks than the idiots that just charge in and hope it goes well. I'd surprised you have an issue with killing by mark order since that used to be a staple of the game.

I have my f5-8 keys set for marks. Skull, X, Diamond and Moon. I love getting the hunters who refuse to trap unless the mark is a square, and this has happened more than once. I have actually kicked people for not using CC when assigned. My hardest thing to get over is the dps that roll on tank gear. Even if I am on one of my tanks as dps I dont roll on tank gear.

Its a LFD heroic, not Tempest Keep. If I'm running with a full squad of guildies minus a tank, I might as well have fun without treating every instance I'm drastically overgeared for as fucking vanilla Scholo 5-man.

I remember Danzor and I did a body count on players that nerdraged because we did our own thing in heroics (Dan was a feral druid who constantly pulled aggro so I just dps'd his target so he didn't die) and I think we got up to 8 (4 of them being tanks) in one Deadmines run.

EDIT: Getting kicked for not CCing because the tank grabbed my target and refuses to let it go is one of my all-time favorites.

the only time i really cc anymore is if i'm running with friends who have cc abilities. If it's 4 pugs + me, I just pop cooldowns.

When I run with friends they already know what mobs should probably be cc'd, i don't mark them I just let them cc pull and pick stuff up. Putting up 5 marks for a kill order is a waste of time in a heroic, at most I'll mark a skull and x if it's a big pull otherwise no mark or just a skull if it's an annoying mob (healing ones mostly.)
