Listening to Coast 2 Coast radio on the way home they were advertising other news sites as reporting his body was dumped in the sea. Not sure what to really believe yet.

No I would not be happy with a trial. It would just be a joke. He would never get a fair trial. The man was guilty of mass murdering thousands, you know it, I know it, the whole world knows it and there is no contesting that.

The important thing is the body was recovered by Americans to prevent a memorial from being made and limiting the potential for martyrdom.

A speedy funeral at sea sounds more like a mafia tradition than an Islamic one.

I keep reading the CIA found him, and the SeALs went in to get him...this sounds wrong. The CIA couldn't find its ass with both hands and Google Map directions. SeALs being involved makes me think navintel was involved at some level (this is not saying that navintel could find its ass with both hands and Google Map directions, either), despite the credentials/purpose of ST6 making them the best unit for insertion regardless of who developed the intel.

If we didn't actually kill him last night, I'm betting someone is absolutely certain he's dead. You know a lot of people are going to look like fucktarded jackasses if we go through all this hoopla only to have Al Jazeera broadcast an authentic new message from The Head Weird-Beard (AKA Bin Laden).

Still...

If this doesn't turn out to be some sort of a hoax/fraud, good job to Obama and those who serve under his command.

This thing is weird to me on several fronts, not the least of which being the burial at sea portion of today's infotainment. I'm not saying Bin Laden is alive, I'm saying something stinks about this, and if people are lying and this is a fraud, it's because they already know he's dead. Either way, I'm good with the bastard being dead and burning in Hell for eternity.

If they did find out he's dead and this was staged...I'd actually be good with that, too. The country needs the closure, and nothing brings us all together like killing someone we can all agree to hate with unbridled enthusiasm.

Sad thing is there is already someone to take his spot - Al-Zawahiri is likely the new target. Regardless, this war isn't over until the ideology is destroyed... and that isn't going to come by killing some people who stand ready to be a martyrs.

So, bin Laden was found in his compound within 1Km of PMA Kakul. Apparently the compound was surrounded by 18ft high walls on all sides with barb wire lining the tops. Playing around on google maps, the building center-screen has a wall around it that is considerably higher than the others. Also, the shadow of the wall is about the same size as the shadow of the structure, and I'm guessing that structure is taller than your standard fence/wall?

Edit: Zaryi's Hamas buddies aren't very happy about USAing the 'Holy Warrior'

Good thing they had the DNA evidence prior to telling the world he was dead! (Oh, wait.) It'd be a shame if this wasn't really him... Saddam had a lot of doubles and it's not like there aren't other people that could look like bin Laden. Let's hope this isn't Obama's "Mission Accomplished" moment.
