I don't drink soda and I don't snack. I walk 3 miles a day (admittedly, walking isn't really high-energy) and lift a few times a week.

I'm guessing it's all the bread/carbs. It's hard to give up bread.

Because bread, wine, and cheese is the diet of your ancestors...which is admittedly not a bad diet. Swap that wine out for some beer, and I could probably live like that, too.

I only drink diet soda, and since quitting smoking last year, it's the one vice I have left and I'm not ready to give it up. Every time I try to lose weight I end up gaining like 25 lbs (no, not muscle either). My thyroid is completely fucked though so that's probably why. I wish it would stop though. I can't lose weight doing nothing and trying to lose weight has caused me to gain like, wayy too much weight.

Well, you're cute and have a decent personality, and I think you know how most of us here feel about the idea of a few extra pounds in the right places.

I'm also not giving up my diet soda. Besides, the weight you shed by giving it up is only water weight. It's not the 40+ extra pounds making my back ache.

Your Pal,
Jubber

More physical exercise and you can eat whatever the fuck you want, plus feel better.

CALORIES must be < CALORIES BURNED

Also, beer makes you piss out more liquid than you imbibe. (Not actual dietary advice)

Back to the original intent of this topic. The only real place I've heard of people finding coupons for meat is from "wine tags" basically coupons that hang around the wine bottles in stores. Some of them require that you buy while others have no such requirement. I've never seen any at my store though so I can't say much else about them. Couponing is actually a lot of fun and is a great way to help yourself and others out. I bought 4 boxes of cereal, 30 tubes of 8 oz toothpaste and 20 boxes of pasta for under 20 dollars and donated it since I don't actually eat/use any of the items (except for a few tubes of toothpaste which should last me for quite awhile).

Some sites I recommend and use are

http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/
http://www.afullcup.com
and
http://www.couponmom.com/

They help with matching coupons to store sales so that you can get the best deals.

I'm fairly sure that in most of America it is illegal to require a purchase to receive a discount on an unrelated product.

The "No Purchase" option may require going to hell and back, but there's going to be a free option as opposed to buying swill to get a discount on meat. Especially since coupons don't stack.

What about gift certificates? There are ways to get them at a discount against face value (as well as writing them off as tax-deductible, in essence meaning you get your groceries for free).

I use a PayPal Business Debit Card. It swipes as a credit card and there is no ATM fee, but it gives me 1.5% cash back - with no interest or service fee. It's great for shaving a bit off expenses. I don't know if they're generally available though - I got mine through having high activity on eBay, something I haven't done in years, but I haven't been asked to renew my credentials. Presumably, it's touch and go.

If you have the chance go pick one of these business debit cards up, I strongly recommend it. 1.5% less baseline cost on all purchases is too good to pass up.

Slight brag post but also an example of how awesome couponing can be. Today I got 20 Gillette series shaving cremes @ $.29/can (Retail is $3.00 at my store). These cans also came with 200 "gas points" per 5 for a total of 800 gas points. 100 gas points = -.10/gal so -.80 total which for a 20 gallon tank is 16.00. I essentially made 10 or so bucks :D and got 20 cans of shaving creme that I can use/donate/give out to friends. I also got 2 boxes of brownie mix for free and other goodies for upwards of 70% off :D. Fun trip today I think the total retail was around $200-225 and I spent <$40. :D

Since I know Eturnal and Jubber are in the D.C you may want to check out Giant week there are a lot of really good sales when combined with couponing. What I'm getting:

Ragu pasta sauce are around 8 for 6 dollars when you factor in gas points on 25 gallons worth of gas (neat trick we started doing was filling up multiple cars when using our gas points since our cars have relatively small tanks 14, 16 and 18).

Skippy Peanut butter is a money maker when including gas points

Barilla Piccolini pasta is 10 cent money maker on each box

Keebler cracker sandwiches are $.75 per box of 8

Ivory bar soap or hand soap is 1 cent money maker

Frost Miniwheats are 60 cents a box

McCormick Grill marinades are free

And Select Schick razors are 25 cents each or free depending on how your Giant does coupons

GL I might post some pictures of what I get this week along with total price and estimated savings because I think this will be my first "Extreme" week.

My wife and I only shop at Giant and we've been taking advantage of the gas points for a long time now - it's a huge help. She also found some Giant ad in the paper that was talking about their double coupons this week. Hmm, I think it was double coupons, she was talking about it at dinner but I wasn't really listening...
