This very simple example should remind them of the bible's teachings that NO ONE KNOWS WHEN JESUS IS COMING BACK aka their official BEGINNING OF THE END. Ok maybe the heavenly Father knows according to the teaching.. which still excludes EVERYONE ELSE.

OK done with brief anecdotal history christian 101 theology lesson.

And sometimes, there's an analogy in that.

yes & to specify what I was talking about regarding this Christian philo:

'Acts 1:7 He said to them: "It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority"'

'Matthew 24:36 "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."'

I study religion and history can't help it

Yes, but where is "no one" referenced, as an answer?

lol, I love how they use examples in Revelations to make their arguments... without consulting ANYONE else who just might have a good 2 cents to put in..

I really don't want to get into that book because I could go on about it for an hour. BUT ILL DO IT! just sayin'

Nope, to each their own. If you choose to be a blithering idiot, who am I to try and convince you to change?

You're a Muslim... a self-proclaimed member of an organized religion, to which you loosely (if at all) follow the five pillars.

You are mistaken. Being a Muslim doesn't associate me with anything other than my own interpretation of the teachings of Islam as illustrated in the Quran. I have forged my own path, without blindly following so-called "experts" who may have their own agendas. I view religion as a guide, not a rulebook, and as something that should be intensely personal.

I do not eat pork, I will not cheat someone, I give alms to the poor, I fast during Ramadan, and I accept Muhammad as Allah's messenger. However, I do not pray, I have had premarital sex, I will never try and convince others to convert, & I don't see the point in super-modesty. That's just the beginning of the disagreements I have with the "

All the same, I forbid anyone from telling me I am not a Muslim simply because I do not adhere to their silly rules.

You're a Muslim because you follow some of Islam, but you're a smarter Muslim than the rest because you pick-and-choose which parts of Islam you practice, despite the fact that all parts were commanded by a man and you're following what they say? Also, I don't get how your singular view of Islam and your semi-practicing of Islam sets you apart from the organized religion that is Islam. Islam has some 1.5B people worldwide and a pretty rigid political/religious structure... it's probably as organized as Catholicism.

PS: Shame on you! You forgot to PBUH...

Meh, I'm about the same way only Christian-lite.

there's a difference between the word of Christ and the word of Christ edited by some old fucks in robes trying to stay in power because other people were learning to read.

Either Christ spoke to you personally, or everything you know about your religion came from a book that has been heavily edited by 'some old fucks in robes'.

If you believe that God has the power to ensure the words of Christ stay true in the bible, then how do you explain not following the entirety of the bible? He's not powerful enough to ensure the whole thing is right?

I realized this the other day - if God is all powerful and he just let's all this bad shit happen in his name, then he's really just an asshole. He could set the record straight, he could fix world hunger, he could fix all these things....

So either he doesn't exist, or he does and is a complete fucking cunt.

Either way, I hope the world does end this Saturday so I can tell him so myself before he sends me to hell because I didn't go to Church enough.

Or, I'm expressing doubt that someone can be a Muslim but not belong to the organized religion of Islam. That's like saying "I'm an apple but I'm not a fruit."

Religions are open in that they give people free-will and most of the things that happen in the world are the result of humanities hand. To blame God for all the bad is wrong; blame him for natural disasters, climate change and disease... everything else is humanities fault.

If judgement day is this weekend, I doubt any of us would have the strength to tell God off knowing our end is near and we're all (mostly) damned to Hell. You'd probably beg for salvation or hide trying to escape the wrath. (Rev 6:15-6:17)
