I don't get how calling someone a cigarette is offensive.

Basketball is probably the only real sport that's popular in the states, considering football is just diet rugby and baseball was made to give the dude who's been pounding the drum at every Cleveland Indians game for the past 20+ years an acceptable social outlet to work out his lust for young children through hitting things with mallets.

I went to a tenant appreciation party my landlord threw last year and there were 10-15 guys there that were all wearing differing colors of Hilfinger and Lacoste polos. The party got crashed after the cops were called due to a 10-15 person brawl in the street because one dude walked up to another dude and socked him in the face for no real reason.

Just because a sport is popular doesn't mean it's tough. It's basketball. It's a bunch of 6'6" and taller divas (with an arm reach around 2' higher than their height) sometimes running (mostly jogging or walking) around an air-conditioned court (that's about the same size as a tennis court) for about 48 minutes, playing with a ball that has half the diameter of the hoop while ensuring little to no contact is made with other players.

And I played basketball in middle school... but I never grew with the rest of the kids so I was out-played.

I'm a hockey fan, basketball's a pussy sport.

Hits are against the rules in basketball.

you might as well show a guys face who tripped and fell on it. it's not supposed to happen.

When did I ever rank sports on difficulty? All I've been doing is identifying what are and aren't sport.

If you guys are assuming that there's absolutely no contact in basketball then lol. Hits are also against the rules in soccer - I guess you think that's a "pussy sport" too? Just because hits aren't "supposed" to happen doesn't mean they don't happen. Just because you get foul calls doesn't mean you can't get elbows in the face; doesn't mean you can't crash to the hardwood floor after driving to the hoop, doesn't mean you can't get blown off your feet by a hard foul.

Whatever, basketball isn't even my favorite sport, it was just the impetus for this discussion, and here I am trying to defend referring to it as "tough" because of your absurd biases.

Yes, though I respect most soccer players more than basketball players. The sport is a joke in the toughness category because of the ridiculous diving issues.


There is a significant difference between getting an elbow or getting fouled once or twice a game, and getting checked the majority of the times you have the puck.
