If the Feds broke up Google, it would just be AT&T all over again. Honestly, though, I don't see them doing that. When they chose not to break up Microsoft, it signalled the days of serious antitrust actions were at an end.

FYI you can do exactly that with Facebook. You can set who can see any given post or set a default for who can. You can do it by individual friends or organize them into groups and include/exclude those groups. Look at the little lock icon when posting something.

Hmm, interesting. Groups aren't what I was looking for, since everyone in them has to agree to join, but friend lists seem to fit the bill. I may try organizing my friends into lists and see how that goes. Editing friend lists doesn't work in Chrome for some reason though...

Not groups like that, just groupings of friends. Go into your manage friends page and you'll see options to create groups to add friends, and when you add new friends there's an option to add them to existing groups.

Zuckerberg....you should know the names of your fellow Jews...especially the filthy rich ones.

Yep my point exactly:

You are right though, I doubt the government will do anything. I feel like corporations are more powerful than the government in many cases. The bailouts and the whole "to big to fail" mentality shows the stranglehold corporations have on our life...because they control the money and jobs.

It seems like this was a something made for advertisers, not consumers. I could see this video could be remade with something other than ads and the concept being an alright idea, but advertising lingo always makes me want to punch puppies.

So wait, they're advertising on a service that you already have to pay for?

They've been advertising on live for a long time now, both the service you pay for and the one you don't. They're not intrusive annoying ads though.

I just started up my 360 and I had to actively search them out.

Friend from google invited me, so now I am on this new bandwagon. Lemme know if anyone wants an invite, I'll try to send one!

I really hope this gets better with age. It's nice and all, but it feels like Facebook-lite. Its UI is way too disjointed, though. A lot of parts don't seem to tie into one another, and it's pretty hard to navigate to certain features from the homepage. Privacy is also kind of weird, as it doesn't have as many defined privacy settings like Facebook. And some of the smaller, more innocuous-looking options are laden with marketing lingo. But so far it's a nice change of pace, so I guess we'll see when it comes to how it turns out in the long run.

Google+ seems like the result if Twitter and Facebook had a love child.

I'm not convinced it's good.

The same was said when Myspace gave way to Facebook. But eventually, Facebook took over and now Myspace is practically defunct. The same thing will eventually happen to Facebook, and it's entirely possible that G+ will be the service that puts down Zuckerberg.
