I wanted to give this it's own post so it is less likely to be glossed over with another non-argument:

What are YOUR "qualifications?" What impact have you made equal to those qualifications?

You are playing the elitist: to deny the gradient between extremes of success and failure. I have often shown resourcefulness in my affairs and my intelligence is recognized by others, and that is all I have sought to assert.

Why play innocent or meek here? No one is playing the elitist you speak in ways that what you say is final so it must be true. Pot calling the kettle black?

I did not use the word "probably", so I'm going to guess you meant "provably". My statement is based on objective facts. For example, he at one point asked "Should children of illegal immigrants receive in-state tuition?", a question which betrays a provably incorrect understanding of the issue.

Skimming fails me again. I get what you were saying.

Of course if you over populate the world it is bad, any idiot can see that. It is all about balance. People die, people are born. That is how it works.

If you believe that is the proper way to judge success, then isn't her mention of her academic qualifications hypocritical since they are not relevant to this? Or are you really going to argue that having a diploma makes you a fundamentally better parent? Doesn't that mean that people who are unable or unwilling to have children have failed at life? Or what about those who fail at life in other ways, or are morally bad people, but have children anyway and raise them all the same? What about people who for one reason or another choose, or face the necessity, of remaining single and/or childless their whole lives? Are they necessarily below the level of those who have had children?

There are infinite ways to measure success. There are minor ways to impact the world and major ways. Each has to exist. My mediocrity is needed in the world. Each person is relevant in one way or the other.

Again you are speaking in a definite manner. No having children is not the ONLY way to be successful. Stop acting stupid you know what I meant.

My point is your academics and how you perform is not everything if you do good, great. If you don't, okay. Doesn't mean you will be a bad parent or a good parent either way.

Why not accept being wrong? I am fairly certain you are incapable of it, I too have a problem with accepting I am wrong. But not to the extent you are taking it.

Callysta says you would be a good lawyer if you could maintain the grades, I would have to disagree.

Why? Because one your unwillingness to admit you are wrong would just get you in trouble with a judge. Not to mention your contempt towards others.

Let me ask you this is a Judge successful?

Is a teacher?

Is a fireman?

Is a police officer?

Is a librarian?

Is a bum?

maybe if everyone keeps posting, something will happen to reverse all the aids and faggotocity of a thread birthed from the clash of an overly vocal mental unstable with boring people incapable of knowing when to just ignore a crying child on a subway train rather than argue with it.

maybe if everyone keeps posting, this thread will become more interesting than a 1999 geocities digimon fansite.

This thread should be made into a movie. It'd probably get an award. Thanks for making work not so boring everyone!

Proof of my intelligence is abundant in the same capacity it is present for Callysta: standardized tests, the praise of educators, and being generally articulate.

Asking about my "qualifications" is quioxtic: I do not have them at this time and am, existentially, fine with that. To argue that academic qualifications and people skills are the only two ways to make a way in the world is flatly false. To ask whether lacking those things will damn me is to usurp judgement. Simply enough: we will see.

Some people in this thread attach supreme value to personal happiness, raising a family, and "success" in the form of institutional advancement or material wealth. That is their value system. I attach supreme value to doing one's small part towards making the world a better place, living a sincere and original life, and the pursuit of human greatness.

Of course I believe that I value what I do more correctly than what some other people believe; if I didn't, why would I believe it? For the other posters the same is true: they value what they do because they believe it is more correct to do so than the alternatives.

People skills garners you connections, and having a lot of connections is a HUGE benefit.

This is the only thing that makes me wish I had more people skills.
