Now THIS is actually interesting. I want to try this robot. I wonder if it has a rare item?

I'm willing to log in and collect my welfare bling.

Playing MoP beta. Observations.

The first (and last) thing I noticed was that there is no right-click option to offer feedback on anything, unlike in Cata beta. Nor is there a menu option. The implication being, Blizzard is in total "we can do no wrong and have made up our minds, we don't want to hear six months down the line that we didn't listen to feedback, so we won't let anyone offer any."

The devs have finally begun to update the squidgoat model, although I don't think they're done - they definitely increased the polygon count of facial features and slightly smoothed their animations. It's much more visible on the character select screen.

The TOGC25 immortality steed does not appear to be accountwide, nor is there a "double mirror" effect allowing Alliance characters to receive the black version. The Amani War Bear, by contrast, IS accountwide, as is the Horde Balloon, which can be received by Alliance characters.

Tabard of the Protector (from TBC opening event) is specifically flagged as a account-wide FoS, but the tabard vendor will not give the tabard to other characters. The tabard vendor won't give Aestu her Tabard of the Achiever, either, so perhaps it's simply not working properly.

They renamed "Dalaran Cooking Award" to "Epicurean's Award". Clearly a worthy use of dev time.

All pets have an attached quote.

Is that a reference to something in particular? I never played Diablo.

Argent Squire CAN be used for battling:

Argent Squire wrote:
"Many of Stormwind's youth joined the Argent Crusade as squires, hoping to one day serve the Holy Light in battle."

...which is illegal under the Geneva Convention (militaries are not allowed to recruit individuals under legal age). Presumably, this will get changed.

In a typical Blizzard display of anti-draenei racism, I wasn't surprised to find they bugged the Ammen Vale Lashling:

Ammen Vale Lashling wrote:
"The long-term effects of the contamination caused by the Exodar are still under

Yes."

Several other quotes appear borked in proportion to the writer's attention level. The Clockwork Rocket Bot is accountwide:

Clockwork Rocket Bot wrote:
"This mechanical warrior is a favorite gift during Winter Veil. Batteries not included [no period or endquote]

Cockroach wrote:
"The cockroack is usually an impulse buy. Its owners have a hard time parting with it

attempts."

At least it's not another Star Wars reference. Idiot feminist; explains a lot.

It's funny if you consider that from the point of view of Diablo, being dispatched to find itself in the afterlife as a mini-pet of an egotistical adventurer would be as close to hell as one could imagine for the poor demon. Should be canon!

The pet selector shows Pets Owned out of 500, and there are many pets apparently fully implemented but greyed out because my character doesn't have them. Many are duplicates, implying the system is still in early development. Given that many pets are no longer obtainable, I'm curious how this will work out.

New paladin ability:
Boundless Conviction - Passive -- You may store an additional 2 Holy Power beyond the maximum of 3. No ability ever consumes more than 3 Holy Power.

Funny thing is, the ability is baseline, not talented. So why not just increase the cap to five? I don't get it.

The lv30, lv75 and lv90 talents seem to just plain blow for prot. Light's Hammer (instant cast 10 yard directed aoe, 1m cd) appears to be a magic "you have threat on everything" button that should be up every pull. As if it was needed. Removing Auras is incredibly lame.

Pandas. Fat. Ugly. Unimpressive.

Tyrael is the Angel of Justice and he does say that in D3.

The Argent Crusade is a paramilitary organization rather than a state, and while it would still be bound by international law, it has less incentive to adhere. Non-states with international recognition are in a particularly interesting place when it comes to the laws governing what's proper.

This is a Jurassic Park reference. All the dinosaurs were female, so that the breeding could be entirely controlled by the park scientists. I doubt there's any feminism behind the pet's gender in this case.

I liked Diablo better when he didn't say much. Villainous exposition makes you less scary.

I wasn't making a pun. I was speaking literally. Someone will probably get offended (honestly, it's justifiable) at making children fight for gold, or implying that they can be used as soldiers.

I'm aware of that on both counts. Maybe, maybe not.

This, basically. Just like the D3 "beta" was really a 30 minute game demo (and then released a game with quite a lot lacking and untested), Blizzard has decided they can do without player feedback.

I levelled my old belf paladin (actually rolled before Aestu) from 80 to 85. Very fast.

Then I did LFD. After being kicked from half a dozen consecutive runs, for being bad, apparently, and having gotten almost nothing accomplished, I said fuck this and logged.

Do some Google searches, read the forums. The CMs went to amazing lengths to squish almost all (more than 99%) of the forum posts in which I was quoted. It must have taken them days. Go figure.

I think this is actually how Blizzard designs products.

It is truly terrifying that Dilbert is restoring my faith in humanity.
