talking about the optimization, not the quality.

lots of games run like complete ass on PC for no real reason, and sc2 managed to not do that which impressed me. then you have a game like magicka that looks as bad as league of legends, and causes peoples shit to overheat.

Agreed. Add ODST to my major disappointment list.

Also, in terms of reach etc....I really hate how the COD games have influenced Halo so now you have different classes that you can select. I hate that actually.

Magicka is fucking awesome.

It makes sense that it would cause shit to overheat because of the sheer unpredictability of every encounter.

Err okay whatever you call it that you have different combinations of guns/explosives

So you could be a sniper class
Mid range class
Close combat class
Support Class
etc etc.

In Reach they implemented it by having you start with like an:

Alien mid range weapon class
Melee class with the sword
Assault rifle human weapon class
etc. etc.

I don't like that type of thing in Halo. I understand how it works in COD, but for halo it was dum...I like finding random weapons.

magicka makes my computer run harder/hotter then crysis does. hell, we emulate smash bros online better then magicka runs. anyone who emulates shit knows how much ps2/GC emulatuors hurt to run, let alone netplay.

not saying that the game isn't awesome, it just runs like complete ass and was the most bug filled launch ever.

ps2 emulation is awesome but yes its a drain. Never tried a GC emu but I'm sure it's probably the same.

Fair enough. I was co-oping with my cousin the other day and it was really bugging out on him and was quite annoying. Took away from the awesomeness.

In the creator's defense...it was just a random school project that they had no idea would become as huge as it has become...so I give them more leeway for bugginess than I would something done by Blizzard or w.e

Magicka is a huge powerhog for no reason. The game is totally awesome, but it occasionally slogs like a gazelle through deep mud on the best machines.

if you run it all native it's easier then ps2, but that's no fun. the emulator comes with all sorts of shit to make the games look better. AA/FSAA, resolution changes, 1080p HD, etc. playing a game like twilight princess or metroid prime with that shit on though will murder your machine unless you have a damn good GPU and probably an overlocked CPU. it sure does make the games look purdy though, despite their age. I'm so glad someone re-affirmed my opinion on Spore. I never needed assurance like that before.

Also, for Starcraft 2 I would say that Use Map Settings was disappointing, especially after they showed off the capabilities of the editor and the marketplace for ultra-super custom maps, then the design for actually joining customs just killed it all. The single player was pretty decent and the ladder is good which puts it a step above most other disappointing games that are just 100% shit everywhere.

No it doesn't. It never does. When I bought 'Poker Night at the Inventory' my laptop would hit 90C+ on the graphic card with everything set to medium. Do you know what happens in that game graphically? Nothing. Nothing at all. Similar happens with 'MTG: Duel of the Planeswalker' on my desktop. The only animation in that game is playing cards and highlighting. Turning everything up makes my 6870 video card go up to 80c. Witcher 2 runs at 80c and requires loads more work graphically.

I'm interested in trying this but the only PS2 game I would want to play again is Tekken 3 or maybe Gran Turismo. I don't remember what else I had. And Tekken 3 wasn't a ps2 game now that I think of it.
