Ret is OP in PvP but blows in PvE

Does it improve dramatically from 80 to 85? I was on my paladin for a bit after 4.0 initially and it was like playing a rogue, except my only ability was Sinister Strike, my only finisher was Eviscerate, I only had 3 combo points, and it took longer to generate them than a rogue to generate 5.

And in comparison to WotLK where I was in for a tough fight when I fought any ret (much less a good one, game over), I have yet to drop below like 70% against any ret paladin while playing Shuruppak.

No, it gets way worse due to rating dimunition.

At 80 you can get enough haste to bring Cstrike down to 3sec CD or nearly and still have a high crit rate. At 85, ratings are such that fully itemizing and reforging for haste, my Cstrike's CD is 4sec with 6% crit chance. Yes, six percent.

Ret is grossly haste reliant. Go do VP and keep your back to the wind on Altarius. The debuff tooltip is misleading; it's a haste effect. Ret benefits disproportionately on that encounter and DPS that do twice a ret paladin's performance the rest of the instance will get beaten by as large a margin on that encounter.

Ret is basically vanilla fury: grossly gear dependent, terrible at low levels but will be overpowered in T12/T13.

I only run heroics with Team Allstate cause randoms are fucking stupid. Mostly about buffs.

"Can I get wisdom instead of might?"

"Can you give us might, kings doesnt' stack with Mark.
"You guys get might, I'll keep kings."
"You can't do buffs like that and again, kings doesn't stack with mark."
"Tank has left the group"

that covers 90% of the buff baddies.

In addition to that, we get people pulling 1-2k dps at 85 somefuckinghow. Healers who oom instantly. People who have no idea how to do mechanics, even when told several times.

Randoms are just a bad experience. I refused to do them without Team Allstate present.

DPS doesn't seem any harder in dungeons. Tanking (if DPS are doing what they're supposed to) doesn't seem any harder, either. I haven't tried healing (and I've never really done much of that), but it looks like if you have experience from before The Last Crying Jag of Arthas Menethil, you shouldn't have too many problems.

I'll let you know if my opinion changes if/when I try healing.

Jubber

Dps isn't harder in heroics. however i at least enjoy dpsing while cc'ing 2-3 mobs depending on the dungeon. which makes it more enjoyable at least for me
