Moveon.org is full of idiots. I used to be on their email list because I agree with the concept of social progressiveness.

Every day, an email about some isolated event like a rape in Rwanda, telling the persons story, a gay male in NYC, a human trafficking ring in Russia, drug cartel violence in Mexico, "Obama's harsh policies (lol) on immigration"... do they think he can focus on everything at once?

Nobody can. Not a single human living or dead has the mental fortitude, endurance, willpower or resources to address every problem at once.

The emails usually conclude with 'We aren't going to be ignored. We need to send the President a message that blahblahblah'

Sounds entirely reasonable. Moveon.org and the Tea Party are the same shit in different toilets.

You can't really compare anything in the liberal sector to the tea party, because the democrat party is basically a conglomeration of disparate interests who agree to agree for the benefit of their individual agendas. The Tea Party represents a movement of core values, and that's why it's had the broad appeal and success it has enjoyed. I could have just as easily picked teacher's unions or the LGBT community as I did moveon.org, but you're right, they all pale in comparison because they're all very self-focused and "me"-centric, which is why they don't involve the broad appeal of a movement like the Tea Party.

The republican party has become first and foremost the anti-obama/anti-democrat party. At least with lgbt/teachers unions you know where they stand, the republican party continuously flip-flops based solely on whether or not democrats are backing the plan.
