When i sit down and think about it, the primary reason i quit was because my internet turned to shit. Now however my internet is generally pretty good. The issue now is i'm really poor and can't justify spending the money on a sub.

I think the game has enough going for it to keep me entertained otherwise even though i can't do the raids anymore.

If you just want to raid, you can do Dragon Soul. Not hard, basically free gear and queue times aren't bad.

That was a time comment more than anything else. And when i said raids i meant more liek, proper raids, with people i know, with things that are actually somewhat of a challenge. A little bit of risk v reward, i enjoy that aspect of gaming.

Valid point though. I hear it's a great gearing up tool.

It's amazing gearing up and if you just want to see the content. Just full of tools who need one everything so they can d/e it later.

I'd like to raid normally but it's impossible to find a guild that doesn't suck but that isn't also full of those same douches.

Luckily, it only takes like an hour or two to do all of Dragon Soul in the Raid Finder.

The content is a bunch of long boring hallways and the gear is pointless and trivial. Raid Finder is slightly less fun than going to the DMV, in that at the DMV you might actually meet interesting people who are actually pleasant to deal with and not stupid douchebags.

And you might get laid.

LFR sucks. I paid gold on the first few weeks to gear up super-fast then never set foot in it again.

EDIT: I take that back. LFR isn't a bunch of hallways. It doesn't even have actual hallways. It's just a bunch of really big rooms with no ceilings and fake matte walls and mobs here and there.

Aestu of Bleeding Hollow...

Nihilism is a copout.

It's like Trial of the Champion without the gay jousting!

It's a fundamental flaw....the game wasn't meant to be played exclusively with randoms. LFR would probably just piss me off.

I'm okay with LFR and randoms, however, if PvE for you is anything like PvP for me then I understand. I think BGs would be infinitly better if they were cross realm and all just your realm. That's why when Dashe and I go into BGs and we see someone from our server we CAMP HIS ASS! Capture the Flag? Fuck that shit. Capture point? Fuck that shit too. The new objective is piss off this dude to the point of leaving.

Dashe also developed a strategy for Isle of Conquest that's pretty fun. We take up residence in one of the 3 story houses on a hill next to the Docks. Then we take turns luring people inside all the way to the top where the bedroom (aka the rape dungeon) is and then jump him! Grimsby's done it with us a couple times and possibly even Tuhl. It can lead to good times.

You see, sometimes, you have to make your own fun.

I just think back to what made the game fun for me. It was slapping dicks with bros...and finding new bros to slap dicks with.

We've talked before about how in the old TBC days, you had to work to find people to run heroics with...if you wanted to build a Kara group, you had to WORK at it. Pugging took dedication, and the community held you responsible if you were a bad. If you came and failed hard, you'd never be invited again, and your name would stick in the minds of people as an "AVOID AT ALL COSTS"

The problem with LFD/LFR is it takes away this accountability by increasing the anonymous-ness of it all. Sure, you can kick bads from a group (though that ability is limited), but they will just use the system again next week, get grouped with all new people...and will be able to scrape by, or suck, get kicked...rinse and repeat.

The old way encouraged forming in game friendships. If you found a good tank or healer...you wanted to add them and play with them again. ESPECIALLY because they were...idk, actually on your realm. This is part of the reason why, as I understand it, the community is shit nowadays.

It's a lot harder to form a relationship with someone if you're just dropped into their group, you faceroll some bosses, everyone rolls need on everything, and you move on.

If you have to take the time to find the person, ask them if they have any friends who want to join, sit and wait in cities while you build the group for 15-20minutes then go out and do the damn thing...you are chatting/working things out/and forming an in game relationship.

I mean, I could be wrong, but I know that's how I made most of my friendships in TBC. It's what helped me get into a guild at all and start raiding. That's why this whole LFD/LFR philosophy has helped kill the WoW community.

I think a lot of the last LFG dungeons I did were in groups of five with Aestu. If anything, LFG just makes it easier to do content with people you like. No traveling here or there, no getting camped at the gates of an instance by 30 people (ah, old Scarlet Monastery, what idiot puts a dungeon in faction territory?), and you can start as soon as all your friends are ready.

Of course, I have friends. I can understand how this might impact other people who are not cool and popular like me (HA HA!!).

LFG was fine - and I used it quite a bit.

LFD is shit.
