Apparently they compared DNA to his dead sister's DNA, which they do have access to.

Amazing how the conspiracy theorists jump out when Obama gets some serious shit done, but had it been Bush making the announcement they would have no questions about it.

I feel like the amount of effort it would take to stage an assassination and subsequently keep it a secret and under wraps is greater than the effort required to actually assassinate him, and that's saying something.

Also, it's not much to demand a picture(which they have, they probably have all manner of evidence that they have the right guy) i just want to see it. maybe i'm vengeful. It's not that I doubt Obama got him, i just want to see for myself.

You're cute when you think people who distrust the government in general would believe Bush over Obama.

The only difference is that this time, you hear people who don't like your candidate versus people who also don't like your disliked candidate.

I wonder how many of the people I walked by today on my commute past ground zero were actually in a position to feel "closure."

I don't mind that Osama's dead. I wouldn't have killed him myself, but then again I don't think I'd be capable of killing Hitler if I had the chance. I am a little annoyed at the apparent bloodthirstiness of the population. What have we really gained?

Revenge is hollow and can never truly bring "closure" - this fact cannot be denied. However, for those who lost loved ones, I'm sure they felt some sort of relief. At least the asshole who set it all in motion is dead.

To clarify, I think it's just fine that he's not kicking around anymore, and I do appreciate that this is something my secret Superman can ride to a second term. But it's true, as Eturnal pointed out, that there's an ideology and not a man at work here. The difference between us is I don't think ideologies can be ended with bullets.

I'm just stating that your statement is flawed. Yes, there are plenty with venom against whatever candidate, but you can't paint the people digging for more information with the same brush.

PS: 8 years to the day after Mission Accomplished sign on a naval ship.

Remember my "May Day" post about sinking ships?

Coincidence. :)

I couldn't kill any non-terminally-ill-and-asking-me-to-kill-them person. Doesn't matter how terrible they are, just couldn't do it.

I think the crazed cheering and "FUCK YEAH HE'S DEAD" fanatics are out of control. It's no better than if some terrorists killed an American and were celebrating. I bet when that happens we'd all get pissed. Bunch of fucking idiots.

Maybe I'm just agitated by the sudden surge of Facebook. "FACEBOOK KILLED BIN LADEN!". Also, the hook for tonights 11'o'clock news is "How you could be deleted from facebook!". The fuck, when did Facebook become news?

I hate people.

Edit: Also surprised I didn't see this thread surface sooner, I thought about making it but decided it was better left in the hands of some super nerd.

This. Killing someone is a lot more difficult than some of you hard-asses think it is.

Are you saying you really don't see the difference between the death of someone who was killed in 9-11 and the death of Bin Laden?

there is speculation that he was killed years ago and kept frozen by the CIA.

he was going to be used for bush's reelection, but he clearly didn't need it. so now they're using it for Obama.

as long as Obama is screwing up your countries dollar, amirite?
