I don't mean a hobo beard, I mean a goatee or something. Though USD can pull off a long beard without looking homeless.

Then again, i may be confusing manly with sexy. as long as you don't actively look like a chick, i am fairly sure guys are the only ones who give a shit about looking "manly". the hell does it even mean really?

You miss the point, Grasshopper. Sean Connery looked manly without the beard. Adding the beard is like getting gems and enchants on your axe: it's the same axe, only better.

I like a man with scruff, but I like to makeout for hours on end with a man with smooth silky lips/chin. (Beard hair is scratchy) It is a trade off. I like it when a man can pull off both.

I think this is part of the disconnect. Most of us aren't looking to intimidate or be "left alone" - we're not thugs. Most of us are looking to be seen as rsspectable. Very different.

Scowling looks like defeat. Smiling confidence looks like win. That doesnt mean you have to have a glued-on used car salesman smile, but it is respectable to look at the world with smiling confidence, not an angry scowl - as if youre trying to pre-emptively scare it off.

Swap scowl|smile for clothing and you have the exact argument that I made and you shot down.
