This. My personal drawl is horrible, and I cringe when I hear myself on tape or video, so the Texas drawl bugs me somewhat. I find the sexiness of the Southern Belle drawl is in direct proportion to the sexiness of the Belle herself.

Really? I think southern accents make people sound retarded. I also think the same about many regional American accents.


Fun fact: many over seas telemarketing and customer service lines teach classes on the southern accent you find in Georgia, Carolina, and other prominent parts of the south east US. The next time you think you are talking to some perky southern belle about your visa bill, you very well may be talking to someone in China or India.

BTW, I live in Georgia but grew up in NC, ME, VA, NJ, and lived in Tn for a while so I have a complete lack of accent. But yes, the souther belle accent can give you wood in the right circumstances.

I'm from New York but live in Florida. My accent switches around a lot, mostly depending on who I'm talking to and my mood. I did develop an English accent a few years ago when I was living with my English friend, as it was all I heard. Generally I have a somewhat neutral accent, though.

I dont notice any accent difference between where i am from in canada and just about the whole east coast (not southern areas obv) and most of the west coast.

also "eh" is usually used as a question mark

not "hows it going eh" but more like "That sure was great, eh?"

and ive never heard anyone besides a enwfie say eh in the middle of a sentence.
