161.70 for 6 months, so about $26 a month. I don't think it's that bad, but then again I have a full-time job that pays decently. I like that there's a cost...because it kinda sets a minimum bar. The girl has to be able to afford that, so she's less likely to be a complete loser.

Also, if you consider that a lot of eHarmony replaces the need to go to bars and spend a shit load on drinks for skanks, also a good investment lol.

Just don't do what my friend did and take them out to dinner on your first meeting in order to make a good impression. He wonders why he was so broke lol.

Haha, I did that a couple times. Once, I ended up getting some play...so it was kinda worth it. The other time, she was a total bitch and it was an awful waste of 50 bucks.

Now I set up extremely casual first meetings: "coffee" is the move.

exactly, in my experience going for the dinner on the first date is really risky, if you don't like her then it's a huge waste of money, and even if there's something there some chicks will think you're just trying too hard to get in her pants and will be put off. Coffee is safe and easy.

Coffee, smoothie, tea, whatever. And a good second date is something like ice skating... even if it ends up sucking, hey you're still ice skating.

ice skating's a great second date. encourages physical contact, but not TOO much physical contact. and can be a good segue to some cuddling/hand holding/etc ;]

If you need more than one date, you're doing it wrong.
