lawn, get off it.

Tribes had jetpacks. I have no idea what you mean by bunny hopping.

Maybe you mean Halo, which had hopping galore.

hopping, as in hitting jump in a specific way to exploit the physics of the game to gain a speed advantage.

l2p. :)

Quote:
Another method of movement is known as "skiing", and relies on an exploitation of the game's physics engine.[9] If a player taps the jump button with the correct timing whilst descending a hill, their momentum will accumulate. High speeds can be achieved this way, and if this momentum takes the player to the crest of another hill, the jetpack can be used to rapidly propel them across the map.[8] This technique was later developed into a game feature by Dynamix for Tribes 2.[10]

apparently mass effect 3 looks terrible

If it's true that our species is alone in the universe, then I'd have to say the universe aimed rather low and settled for very little.

If you'd said skiing I would have immediately known what you were talking about. With "bunny-hop" I envisioned the ridiculously slow-motion jumps of Halo, which never happened in Tribes.

Skiing was awesome. The pace of games like that is what made them great. It's more satisfying to hit a fast target than one moving no faster than I can crawl.

it definitely looks even more streamlined then 2 was and some of the plot decisions they've released definitely make you go "wat". that and fucking omni blade ?????? it'll still be worth a playthrough i'm sure, but derp.

You'd think that Bioware would've learned after DA2 that peddling to the CoD crowd would blow up in their faces.

Then again, I remember 2-3 weeks after DA2 was released (and panned by everyone they didn't pay to like it) there was some article they released bitching about how people's standards are too high for video games, as if it was the fans' fault that they released a half finished game.

it was a flaw that even the producer of the game exploited because if the game didn't have that fuckup of physics, it was horribly tedious to play.

edit: and if you actually wanted to play it the tedious way, you had people skiing everywhere anyway.
