and don't give a shit about baseball or bounceball but I'm pretty sure their playoffs are like 2.5+ months long
I hate baseball for a variety of reasons:
1.) No salary cap
2.) No profit sharing
3.) The Yankees
4.) 9 innings...way to fuggin long
5.) The average time between a pitch is 30-45 seconds. On TV it's just reaction shot after reaction shot...just showing old guys standing in the dugout looking serious...it's just boring
6.) Their season is way too long...it's like 180 games...feels like 500 games.
7.) Baseball sucks, look at all the mostly empty stadiums...seriously, watch the highlights on sportscenter and you'll see every stadium but the Cubs, Sox, and Yankees being mostly empty on a regular basis.
You are now off my Christmas list.
Btw -
1. there is a proffit sharing system in place. The Yankees actually pay more in the luxury tax that it generates than some teams spend on their entire payroll.
2. Most stadiums seat 60k people, but a half full stadium is still approximately 450k of revenue per game.
3. The game could not run on less than 9 innings, you need to either go to a game in person or at least a minor league game. It is alot more fun to watch in person. Kinda like golf but alot better. Also, if you have never been to a hockey game, I highly recomend one.
4. 162 games plus playoffs, so I will give you the 180 games.
5. There have been alot of rules put in place to speed the game, but admittedly there are those tards that have to scratch themselves raw between pitches as some dumbfuck "ritual". Watch Nomar Garciapara bat, I hate that fucker now matter how good or bad he is because of that dumbshit he does with his gloves EVERY FUCKING PITCH. Pitchers are actually on a timer now and can be charged a ball if they take too long. The problem is when a pitcher gets set and the batter then decides to scratch his balls.
6. The salary cap issue is a HUGE deal. The problem is, if you put a salary cap of say 140 million dollars (the Yankees and Mets are in the 200 mil range) you would actually have out of work superstars for a long time. Teams like the Pirates or Royals would still only spend their 35 million dollars on players while top end players would still demand 15 million a year to play, making some teams stack their roster and then have the end of the bench scrubs to fill the roster. It would take almost an entire generation of ball players (7-10 years or so) for the players to start to drop their money demands and some of the low end teams may raise their payroll. The other problem is the teams that dont give a fuck about proffit sharing or luxury caps like the Yankees would no longer be pumping 30 million dollars a year into the pot so the low end teams would actually have to make money or just go away.
Either way you look at it, Baseball is still recovering from the juiced era and will end up back on top in a few years and then fuck something up, its the way the game goes.
BTW - Fuck pro basketball, I could not tell you a single game I watched this year that did not mention where Lebran is going to play, even if he was not playing in that game. He has been tapped as the new superstar and they try to make him bigger that Jordan, with oh by the way, no where near the credentials of MJ. And every single shot seems to get a high five and a 20 second celebration. You made a jumpshot, good, go play defense and try to make another one. Celebrate when you score 50 points and your team wins, otherwise shut the fuck up.
9 level 90s and 10 85s, Damn I need another hobby.
