Earned for winning a certain number of rated battlegrounds - 50/150, I believe.

Marshal Aestu will have enough wins to receive both on 4.2 release, but my account won't be active. Maybe cash in a free week.

Asplain. I love that game but have no idea what you refer to.

The BiS melee trinket in 4.2 shoots stars, just like the Angel Band from SO2, the BiS ring from Star Ocean 2.
The other BiS melee ring from Star Ocean 2 was the Meteor Ring, made out of Meteorite. And so now there is the Meteorite Ring.

The Inscription Daily is to make Forged Documents, which can be turned into a NPC for gold, same as the Forged Documents from Star Ocean, which could be crafted using Vellum and the "Reverse Side" skill, and had no function other than being vendored for a large amount of cash.

In both cases, you the player engage in forgery using paper and ink, to make cash by scamming NPCs.

Also, S9 drake is apparently the OS25+3 Twilight drake. With armor!
New and previously inconceivable level of fail.

I mean, they could have at least added a seat. Or reskinned it with awesome tattoos and runed armor like the Azure Drake, which actually manages to make an old model look amazing without setting it on fire or adding spikes. That's quality art design there.

"Custom" meaning, "custom to each season", not "custom to each player".

It's not actually "customizable".

Not playing arenas, but doing PvP is stupid. Arenas are competitive and fun. There are around the same teams probably from last season.

Aestu, your star ocean comparison is really, really reaching. A game this big with this many items will eventually overlap a large number of games even if the devs are working in a complete void.

There are a lot of references to other games/pop culture, but those aren't.

I agree it is reaching, but there are many other clear and obvious references in Cata content to other video games, something that was seldom if ever the case in the prior expansions. In that context, the assessment is a reasonable one.

You've never seen him heal.

But anyway, I have every confidence he will. With sufficient percentage and mechanic nerfs, massive overgearing, and being carried by people more skilled and flexible than he is who care enough about doing what it takes to kill the boss for their own reasons - he will.

That IS the point of the patch, you know.

I take a lot of shots at Paddywack because, tbqh, I find his very existence as a human being offensive.
No, really.

To this day, I see Aestu as Cecil's spiritual successor.
But talking to Paddywack makes me visualize Cecil wiping to the Dark Knight.

I would be most gratified in the unlikely event someone should grasp the point
(being made in the most nerdy way imaginable)

Final fantasy 2(4?) is hardly that far of a reach.
