Rush Limbaugh in 2009: "By definition, folks, moderates cannot be governed by principle. They can't be. Moderates don't have principles. If they had principles, they'd be one thing or the other. . . . And they're just a bunch of arrogant, conceited--and at the same time ignorant--people."

Former Enron advisor Paul Krugman in todays NYT: "Oh, and about independent voters: if you think that they're strong-minded, solid citizens repelled by the partisanship--well, there may be a guy like that somewhere in America. But by and large, given the vast differences between the parties these days, independent voters are basically confused, clueless people."

Or neither party presents a strong enough case for itself.

It's not that moderates are unprincipled, it's that they're ignorant, and unfortunately they have the greatest power in this country since they are the only determining factor in elections.

That said, I agree in principle. If you're a swing voter, it's because you're fking stupid.

You have stated this notion previously (maybe over a year ago) and it remains one of the truest notions I have ever heard
