I'm starting them both again this week, i plan to move to newton if he settles in and panthers D still sucks, because if their D is bad they'll be playing from behind, so newton will get a lot of work in.
i have reggie wayne, wes welker and jordy nelson as WR, hightower and deangelo williams as RBs(may switch williams for james starks or willis mcgahee)

Yeah, I'm not totally sold on Cam Newton yet, but I agree with the philosophy because the panther's defense does blow donkey dick. I tried to pick Steve Smith up off waivers but someone else grabbed him before me. Highlights of my rosters:
League 1 -Michael Vick -Greg Jennings -Peyton Hillis -Santonio Holmes -Dez Bryant -Philly Defense (picks=points nom nom)
Notable Backups: Mark Sanchez Plax Burress
League 2 -Arian Foster -Tim Hightower -Darren McFadden -Antonio Gates -Santonio Holmes -Anquan Bolden -DeSean Jackson
Notable Backups -Dez Bryant -Mark Sanchez
Sebastian Janikowski is also my kicker for both leagues. He had a monster first week...also my reasoning behind getting me was that the raiders are generally terrible and have trouble getting in the endzone = fieldgoals galore!
Does your league play with a flex position? (Extra RB or WR or TE)? Both of my leagues do, last week I started 3 WRs, but I may mix in 3 RBs one of these weeks.
I dont know about peyton hillis. considering he's the ONLY offense the browns have defenses are going to be all over his ass.
vicks always a great pick if he stays healthy. I'm a big fane of holmes and bryant, but i hate philly defense. i just hate everything about that team, except vick and....wtf is his name, foster?
sanchez won't do much this year, burress should be solid against good secondaries, great against weak ones.
you should end up pretty well in your leagues. just a bit weak at QB imo.
there's a draft between all members of the league at the beginning. like the NFL draft, only the entire league is up for grabs.
you build a team and then those players stats(for instance, wes welker had 28 points from his 2 TDs and 100 yards last week) add up to your total points. winner has most point. not sure how the playoffs work out yet, haven't gotten that far.
also, rules are set by league organizer. can change anything from flex position, how many of each position you can have on your bench, different manners of scoring(1p for 10 yards, or 1p for 20, etc)
pretty entertaining, but it has put me in the awkward position of rooting against my favorite team(panthers) because i had the opponents QB or this week WR AND RB.

True, he had a good week one though...and I still think he's a beast. It kind of works two ways...defenses will be looking out for him, but at the same time since he's their only offense, you know he's going to get a ton of touches.

Yeah I'm kinda screwed if Vick goes down. You might be thinking of LeSean McCoy. He's the Eagles RB and has put up some solid fantasy numbers.

Yeah I agree. My strength is definitely Wide Receiver, and I have some solid backs...so it's really all about how I play them.

Is this like tabletop war games where you get a recruitment budget? Or can you just pick whomever you want?
To add to what Usdk said, during the season you can also trade players with other people in the league. You can also drop players from your team and add players who werent drafted by anyone.
It takes football and makes it nerdy by having competitions based on stats. It's actually a lot of fun and makes every NFL game more exciting. For example, I would normally not give two shits about the Oakland Raiders. But, because I have Darren McFadden as my RB, when the Raiders are on the goalline, I get a raging boner. However, Usdk is also right in that it makes you have inherent contradictions as a fan. For example, I fucking hate the Dallas Cowboys...yet I have Jason Witten and Dez Bryant on both of my teams...so I hope the Cowboys lose to everyone (especially the Eagles), but that Witten and Bryant get a shit ton of yards and points anyway.
It also leads to funny occurrences like this:
Brian Westbrook took a knee coz the Eagles had the game in hand. However, he fucked over tons and tons of fantasy owners because if he had waltzed in to the endzone they would have gotten a bunch of extra points. One guy in my league would have won his championship game had Westbrook decided to score instead of take a knee.
At work they're doing a league where the person in last place has to get a butterfly tattoo anywhere on their body. Needless to say, fantasy football has never been more interesting.
not really. say cam newton has a bad couple of weeks, and I get tired of playing him because i have another QB i use, roethlisberger. I can trade cam newton to azelma, who say has plenty of RB's and i need one.
