Just figured I'd let people know since CNBC was talking about trying to keep it on domestic economic issues (since this is CNBC and all) and less on other politicized issues.

Edit: Not right now... different time-zone + laptop that didn't update its time = being off

Only strong players (in my opinion) were Newt, Cain and Romney.

Then, there was this...

Peace out, Perry.

I frequent the alumni board for my very conservative alma mater. Even they hate Perry. When conservative Texans hate Perry you know something is wrong.

"People" aren't, republicans are. If Romney gets the nomination, it's very likely going to be McCain all over again, and the base stays home and hands Obama another four years to continue to fuckerization he and his predecessor are responsible for heaping on us.

Really Ron Paul was the only person who could save the Republican ticket imo. Sad the Republican party will never have the spine to nominate him. They'd rather appease their fucktarded bases.

Paul would save the ticket until people realized that he should be in an institution, not running for president.

Romney would lose on his wild position switches alone.

Not to mention the white and Mormon thing, which is unfortunate.

The fact remains that the Republican party has too many bases that they are trying to please. No matter what candidate they choose there's always a vocal minority claiming that he "isn't conservative enough" or whatever (look at what happened with McCain). Without unity they will never be able to win. Not to mention, too many of their high profile pundits simply alienate most moderates.

Unfortunately for the Republicans, "Obama sucks and is ruining the country" isn't a viable campaign platform for everyone to rally around.

Yeah, they just blame them on Obama instead.

In all seriousness, who do you people honestly think is gonna get the nom? Romney is the only one that has a chance in hell against Obama.

Cain quotes Pokemon songs.
Gingrich and Bachmann will be eviscerated by what they've said in the past.
Paul is insane, the neocons won't vote for him, and the corporatists in the RNC are already shutting him out.
Perry is probably functionally retarded (and racist).
Is Pawlenty still running? I have no clue.

EDIT: To add onto what Azelma said, anyone who survives the primary (read: they're "conservative" for all the lunatics) is going to get slaughtered in the general election, probably by soundbytes and slogans that they used to cater to the crazies on the end of the spectrum.

Cain is about the only one I like, but that's like comparing him to the floatiest turd in the bowl.

edit: again, the only person who can beat obama in 2012 is obama.
