Flight was booked to capacity, a late passenger who was a total heifer boarded late, sits down, is apologetic but because he is sitting down the other passenger is unable to sit. The fatass in question (sorry, person of size) took up the entirety of the seat they paid for plus half of the other man's seat.


I'm just waiting for some dumbasses to say the man is an attention whore who just wants money. He stood on his feet for a 7 hour flight from Anchorage to Philadelphia.


Airline completely dropped the ball.

So the airline screwed up and in your skewed world view that translated to "Political Correctness is CANCER"?

The airline fucked up by letting the fat guy fly without buying a second seat, which is the standard procedure. The passenger who stood did so by his own choice. The airline should have attempted to free up a seat by offering an incentive for one of the two to take a later flight. Given that they didn't, the guy who stood should have made a big deal about it. The fat guy didn't do anything wrong, it's not his fault the airline fucked up, so it's not more acceptable to kick him off than it would be to just kick the guy who stood, or anyone on the plane.

You need some psychological help if your response to someone being overweight is such vitriol, particularly since you know nothing of the man in question.

I'm pretty sure all people are of some kind of size. It's a little silly when you're trying for a phrase that is gentler than 'large', 'big' or 'overweight'. They are all within spitting distance of harmless.

I don't see how words are offensive on their own.

And Dvergar, political correctness is fucking stupid. It used to be called 'respect and common sense'. That was fine. The fact that we as a society have to constantly modify terms such as respect and common sense to 'political correctness' is testament to how butt-fuckingly stupid the very idea is.

No I'm with Dvergar here. I don't care if you call the late passenger fat, because that's what he is. But the article has nothing to do with political correctness; it has to do with shoddy airline practice.

I'm just saying, you can be respectful and exercise good judgment and common sense without taking it too far at which point it becomes political correctness.


I have hearing aids. I can't hear worth a god damn. I don't care if people call me hearing impaired or hard of hearing, or partially deaf. I don't even know which of those is the politically correct term to use. Maybe Dvergar or Tuhl could tell me so next time someone says something innocuously I can feign butthurt and sue them or something.

I also don't get butthurt when people say things like deaf fuck, in seriousness or jokingly. You could come at me bro™ with that insult, and I wouldn't perceive it as such. If I did perceive it as such, I wouldn't give a fuck because why should I let what someone else says bother me?

Especially if it's the result of an uninformed and uneducated point of view. If anything, it makes me more secure in my smug douchebag knowledge that they are hopelessly ill informed morons.

I seriously don't give two shits and a flying fuck. All of these are factors that are beyond my control, so why should I get butthurt about it? If anything, people should get butthurt about things that ARE within their control. AKA Fatasses. Get butthurt. And use it as motivation to hit the fucking treadmill.

I'm not exactly a twig. I weighed 245 lbs at the start of 2011. I am now down to 221 lbs. I'm doing something about it. That guy on the plane could too. An old guildie of mine who shall remain nameless wasn't in the greatest shape ever, and now he runs like 5 miles a day.

It's not possible to not lose weight. It is only as impossible as you make it. That's why I refuse to feel bad for some 'person of size' (wtf?) who pays for one ticket and takes up 1.5 seats. It is the airlines fault for allowing him on the plane, but maybe it was some politically correct fag that allowed him on in the first place so they didn't offend him. Wouldn't want to lose all the revenue from him stuffing his face with pretzels and peanuts (which they now charge for, btw).


As of this post, I'll rephrase the title to make it more appropriate to the thread subject. I get where you are coming from, this thread isn't specifically about PC, it's about a singular instance of it. I'll change it to something about 'persons of size'
