I've asked around, but I know some people here are good with computers, so I might as well ask here, too!

Computer specs:

Processor: Intel (R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 @3.00 GHz 3.00 GHz
Memory (RAM): 8.00 GB
System Type: 64-bit Windows Vista
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX/9800 GTX
Video Card Driver: nvd3dum.dll

Speed test: http://www.speedtest.net/result/1618148348.png (people said it's more then fine.)

I know I've got windows Vista, and that only recognizes 4gigs or RAM, so I've got 4 gigs not being used. I'm going to buy Windows 7 so I get all of the RAM to use. I'm going to buy a new processor, since people have said my processor has sucked, and DUO doesn't work well with streaming. Someone told me to buy either the Intel i5, or i7. So, I'll go with a new processor, too. If anyone knows anything that helps streaming quality, performance, or anything, that'd be awesome! Thanks!

If you have 64bit OS and 8GB of ram it should all be recognized. Otherwise your mobo is old or retarded as fuck (search bios updates).

Intel i5
p67 or z68 mobo
Make sure your ram is DDR3 and not DDR2.

If I get the p67 or z68 mobo, would that erase my computers information and everything on it?

Memory Type: DDR2 PC2-8500, DDR2 PC2-6400, DDR2 PC2-5300, DDR2 (non-ECC)
Maximum Memory: 8GB
Currently Installed Memory: 8GB
Total Memory Slots: 4
Available Memory Slots: 0

So, I'd need to get DDR3 sticks? Which ones are good? Seems like there's many of them, so I'm not sure which one is better. I don't need top of the line, but I don't want some shit fest thing ;p.

In no particular order, a bunch of CPU/Mobo combos on the cheaper end. I think only one is designed for SLI.

Otherwise you can browse the other combos by going here. This processor can be overclocked.
If you tell yourself "fuck that shit" then look through these combos.

Ram - pick your size

Sometimes when you get a new mobo your Windows install starts going "derp need new key" or refuses to boot into the OS, but if you do the method above for Win7 I don't think that happens. I'm not sure exactly. To be safe I would back up everything important just in case. Weena got lucky twice using that method.

Personal opinions.

I have had zero problems with Gigabyte boards and I have used 3 in the past. I think a lot of people are dumb as fuck because ALL mobo boards have 45% 5-star ratings and 25% 4-star ratings and the rest in 1-star/2-star. You can spend less on the ram if you find versions with out the heatsinks and they will be perfectly fine. Make sure they are rated 1333 MHz or better. I just picked the first two that weren't overly expensive. Brand shouldn't really matter, but I stick with g.Skill.
