Did you guys hear that Obama and his team were meeting with EU leaders to talk about their debt problems and how to fix it? Yea, I thought it was funny, too. What isn't funny is that some people suspect the US Government or Federal Reserve might intervene by buying bad Italian/Greek debt to keep those economies afloat so it doesn't send ours into a double-dip (which is likely to happen anyways).

It's not certain that we're getting too involved... but, what do you guys think would happen if we helped bail them out? What do you think would happen if we didn't do anything and watched the EU/Euro slowly crumble. Our economies are closely tied together so I think either course of action would fuck the American economy in one way or the other.

It's a mess and the outcome is completely unpredictable at this juncture.

Most likely:
1. EU will break up (either the Germans leave or the PIGS do)
2. EU will resort to fiat money backed up by corporate authoritarianism and string things along for a while
3. EU will develop some sort of functional federal financial system (lol as if)

we're already double dipping recessionwise.

Well, I hope that our leaders can figure out the lesser of two evils and take action accordingly (ie, which will fuck us over less). I also hope that people will realize that the president really doesn't have a "fix everything now" button that he isn't pushing and just sitting in the White House wearing the troll face.

Does he have a "Try to fix something about the economy during my first term" button... because I'd be happy if he pushed that, at least.

I love the 'Despite what Aestu says' policy! "It's good to do, think and say exactly opposite of what Aestu says, thinks and does." Chances are, by living with this policy, you'll be right most of the time.

It sure shouldn't matter...not if the electorate uses the same "we-don't-care-if-the-candidate-is-unqualified/inexperienced-we-just-know-that-this-isn't-working" criteria they used in the last election.

Mitt Romney is a complete sideways talking walking contradiction. Herman Cain's tax policy is completely disastrous, and from the looks of it he may be ending his bid. Gingrich just received a very important endorsement from a NH newspaper, but I do not see Gingrich having a snowball's chance in hell of beating Obama. Gingrich has too many skeletons, he's a total playboy and strikes me as extremely calculating and dishonest.

I'll say what I've been saying all along, the Republican party needs to throw 100% support behind Huntsman, and do it sooner rather than later. Political infighting needs to stop, a frontrunner needs to emerge. Huntsman needs to do a better job at getting his name out there.

He is unmatched on foreign policy experience and knowledge, and as governor he paved the way for a pretty nice surplus for UT so his economic policies are most likely spot on.

He's fairly moderate as far as certain issues are concerned, and I can see him carrying some major player swing states and independent voters.

Right now though Obama still has my vote. What Fanta said is very true. There is no 'fix everything now' button. I believe he has been throwing everything he has at fixing the economy as Eturnal was concerned about. That whole economic stimulus thing that Mitt Romney was for and against at the same time, it didn't work out. That doesn't mean he didn't try. It doesn't mean he's not going to continue trying.

The President can't force economic recovery. The House and Senate + the President can definitely influence it though. It's not all on his shoulders. There's a lot of political bullshitting going on from both sides, and I'm quite honestly tired of it.

Pretty sure the whole "inexperienced candidate" thing is kinda moot now, considering the dude has 4 years of being the president of the USA under his belt.

As for his skeletons... they're old news thats been aired and addressed many times in the past. I'm not sure it's going to have a massive negative effect on his campaign, electability or likability. And if honesty is a concern... I don't get why you're going to support Obama a second time. :P

I could hold an office/position, do very little, and still be out 'inexperienced'.

Also, isn't this "inexperience" and being "outside the beltway" some sort of golden cow in the Republican Arena? I mean, its not like you guys are running a pizza guy or anything.
