So, I'd like to start doing things to help my brain be faster or just better in general.
what are some things you'd suggest? I've heard fish oil supplements are good (I don't eat fish). Should I take fish oil supplements either way?

I no longer take fish oil, but I do take a multivitamin.

Physical exercise is very overlooked for strengthening ones mind. Endorphins, confidence and testing your willpower.

Check out lifehacker.com if you just wanna get more efficient in your day to day life.

Get a smartphone as well, having email / web / calendar / reminders etc at your fingertips is great. Well worth the money as far as I'm concerned. I've become a lot more put together as a result of just writing down every last thing I need to remember.

Use the opposite hand as usual to do daily tasks. It'll exercise the other half of your brain.
