EDIT: Star Ocean: Till the End of Time anyone?
If you've never played/plan on playing:
Spoiler (highlight to view):
You find out that your universe is a computer game. the programmers send in god-like enemies to exterminate all life in the Milky Way because some of them damned NPCs figured that bit of information out. You then travel to the "4th dimension", the real world, to figure out a way to save the galaxy.
At the point where you travel to 4D. Your characters are capable of destroying the human sized versions of these gods. After shocking the residents of the real world you get into a fight with a squad of security guards. The difference in strength is amazing and you can easily one shot them. Unrelated but I enjoyed how damaging they made their guns in comparison, you can easily be one/two shotted as well.
The first boss of 4D is ridiculously strong for no real reason and you pretty much fight robots from there until the end of that area.
What do you think? Are you controlled by someone or just some random generic NPC?
Fan fact: One of my cats is named
Fayt Kittygod.
Spoiler (highlight to view):
Is the first boss fight outside of the game where you fight that programmer? I think that's where I had to give up because I couldn't beat him the first time the party encounters him. Really tough.
Also, the Executioners were simply 'virus scanners/removers' sent into the system to clear up sectors of the game that were deemed 'infected', right?
