Do any of you nerds know the steps to factory unlock your phone? I called AT&T and they said to do a "back up and then restore" and I'm now wondering... doesn't "restoring" your phone make it like new? I don't want to lose my apps and contacts.

PS I don't mean "jailbreaking" I simply want to be able to use a sim card from a different country. Since I'm off contract with AT&T until I renew, I'd like to be able to keep using my phone here in Antigua.
