*Knock on wood* I've never gotten the flu, mono, or any super super sickness.
I did get sick when I was a kid often, but it would manifest itself in terrible tonsilitis (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tonsilitis ). Pain swallowing, pain speaking, pain pain pain. I used to have to just spit the whole time because swallowing my saliva was so painful.
When I'm saying terrible...I mean like this:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c ... _strep.JPGI probably should have had my tonsils taken out, but never did get it done. Now, I have abnormally large crypts in my tonsils (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tonsillar_crypts ), and sometimes I have to hack out tonsil stones, or "Tonsilloliths" (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tonsillolith ) which are disgusting smelling masses of food and dead cells.
They look like this:

In the last 5 years, the worst thing I get when I get sick is a sore throat and a minor sinus infection. I think keeping my tonsils has to be a part of that, since they are the ones who stand in the line of fire and get owned when I'm sick.
