Nah I was the jealous type for a LONG time. I still kinda am, though it's not bad. To borrow from How I Met Your Mother, are you the reacher or the settler? If you are the reacher, the jealousy can really bog you down. In this case, I would advise against going thru her facebook (lol cmon, we're not in high school anymore). Just avoid thinking about it because at the end of the day, you're only hurting yourself with non-truths.

But since you're pretty cool, I doubt you're the reacher. Being the settler makes this easier than you'd think. Just revel in how much it doesn't matter who she talks to or who she has dated because she'll never want someone else. You're just that much better than any other guy she's met or will meet!

I had that same exact problem. If I found out about how he hooked up with this girl he knew in the past, I would imagine it in my head happening and get upset about it. It made me feel grossed out sometimes, jealous and a little hate. I actually felt less special. I, personally, haven't even been with many guys sexually. Finding out about at least 10 girls that I know having had been with him at some point drove me off the wall. It got better with time. I spent too much energy getting hurt over something I couldn't control anyway. You will never find someone who hasn't had past boyfriends , girlfriends, or hookups. As long as they love you now and they show it, try not to let their past get you down I guess.

Also, no one LIKES hearing about their significant others past relationships. That's totally understandable and I think everyone would agree.

A twinge of jealousy is fine. You like her. She's yours. You don't want to think about her being with anyone else. Dwelling on it or having it make you physically ill is not :/

Remember, you've been with other people too. When you start feeling upset, do a role reversal and imagine yourself as your girlfriend. I find that putting myself in someone else's shoes provides me the perspective I need to accept things.
