I am looking to buy a computer and >16" LCD monitor (or two).

The computer need not be remotely recent; it need only be capable of running WoW with decent settings. Smaller is better, I'd prefer a prefab or microATX.

I also am looking for an LCD monitor. 4:3 or 16:9 is okay, best of all would be one of each.

I'm looking to spend a few hundred bucks. Maybe someone has some spare hardware laying around...

Sucks you need it to be smaller. I have a Dell XPS 8100 that is just collecting dust ( http://www.dell.com/us/dfh/p/studio-xps-8100/pd ). I used to game on it...but now I use it exclusively to store porn.

I want to build a new computer myself and make it melt faces. First I need to get rid of this old thing. Might have to craigslist it.

It doesn't have to be smaller - that would do. How much would you want for it?

In partial trade, I can offer you a spare hard disk or two I have laying around (7200 RPM, SATA, pretty good) if you need your storage needs met.

And, uh, you have a woman, don't you?

Bartering for the win.

If it's true that our species is alone in the universe, then I'd have to say the universe aimed rather low and settled for very little.

I'd prefer just cash if possible.

Hmm...I paid about $1100 for it new, but that was about 2+ years ago....also was standard Dell scam markup.

Looking on ebay...I'm seeing things all over the map but hovering in the 500-900 range. ( http://www.ebay.com/csc/i.html?_from=R4 ... ld=1&rt=nc )

I think something like $400+shipping for all of it (desktop, monitor) seems reasonable. PM me if you want to talk details.

I think I've discussed my insane libido before. Even one night without said woman and I generally have to wank.

$400 is more than I'd hoped to pay, since many people have spare PCs floating around - but it's a pretty good piece of hardware and you say you have a monitor for it.

What dimensions and screen layout are the monitor? Any damage to PC or monitor? Does it still have the self-restore partition intact?

I still have the carry harness used to haul the first computer to Cincinnati. The cost of a round-trip train ticket appears to be only slightly more than the cost of shipping, and if we were to meet, I could give you the spare hard disk anyway (which is currently annoying me by occupying shelf space) on top of the base $400 price . This would save the cost of transit for meeting for its own sake - or postage, depending on how you prefer to look at it. Plus, you wouldn't have to agonize over what pornographs to save or throw away.

I do promise to be nice. Or you can just mail the thing. Up to you...

It's the obligation of a partner to satisfy the other and that is true on a mutual basis. Without being overly critical, I think that her lack of sensitivity is troubling.

That might work! I'll look at all the stats either tonight or tomorrow and let you know. The monitor and PC have no damage to them. The self-restore partition is still intact, I have used it once.

Only thing I know for sure is wrong with it is one possibly-broken audio port. I say possibly because I'm not quite sure what happened. It just randomly shorted/stopped working a little over a year ago. Still, I use a USB headset/microphone to get my sound anyway (so the soundcard is fine). I can throw that headset in too.

Allow me to clarify...we don't live together, so we have a few days each week where we don't see each other. If she's not physically present to satisfy me, I must do the deed myself :(

Sounds good. Onboard audio is typically all but useless due to magnetic noise from the system, so yeah, I don't care that's broken.
