Immediately before Arthas takes Frostmourne, what does he do?

(hint: see first part of Shadowmourne quest chain)

I found a bigger hole. It's that the new gay trailer has Raynor saying the incredible cliché "I never gave up on you" shit-ass line, when in Brood War he straight up tells her he's going to kill her.

I hate this Hollywood crap. wtb SC1 + BW caliber story pls.

I gave up when I played the first mission of SC2 and saw all the NPCs were gender/race typecast, Hollywood EEOC-style.

EDIT: Actually, no. I gave up as soon as I saw the cheesy intro video with Raynor shooting in a TV set.

He climbed stairs, since Reynor hadn't invented elevators yet.

I just found a massive hole in your thread title.

Edit: Unless I'm just bad and missed some inside joke between SC nerds.

Edit 2: I assumed that you meant/thought that he dropped his mace at the Frozen throne but he dropped it in the "cave", then proceeded to the throne.

Maybe I'm just bad and not seeing it, I'm exhausted.

You are much smarter than you give yourself credit for. You did this at least once before, I believe - saw the obvious correct answer where everyone else missed it.

Yes, as Tuhl said, Arthas dropping his mace in the cave is a huge SC lore hole that remains to be explained.

you're just now noticing this and not through all of wings of laughs? speaking of that trailer though.

THERES SOMETHING DARK IN ME. WUB WUBBING INTENSIFIES.

i'm pretty sure that leaked ending from way back is still true, and i'm going to laugh so hard seeing it in game. i'm sure the campaign will still be fun though.

I watched the leaked ending. It doesn't close the lore hole I noticed. Actually, it only rips it bigger.

The animation is horrible, looks like something produced by an amateur. I don't know enough about the development cycle of cutscenes to know if that's because it's early concept or if the low quality itself proves it a fraud.

The "ending" doesn't make sense for (at least) two reasons: it completely contradicts how Kerrigan and the Zerg are defined. In Brood War, Kerrigan is pretty clearly made out to be utterly beyond salvation. She does evil things on her own because her experiences with the Zerg turned her evil and insane and nothing short of a bullet to the head or some sort of scifi deus machina magically changing her back into a human against her will would change that. The Zerg CAN'T be free because, again, Brood War establishes that without the Overmind, the Cerebrates, Kerrigan, Duran, the UED or someone or something else controlling them, they are utterly mindless - with no control they go into destructobot mode. This is fundamental not only to the story but their in-game mechanics (supply cap).

But what are lore holes to Blizzard-Activision?

What makes the "ending" seem at least partially plausible is the sheer degree of Titanic-like sappiness. It's the only real argument in its favor, and sadly, it's a pretty damn strong one.

And pandas. Fuckin pandas.

PS: I always thought the UED were by far the coolest (and most interesting) antagonists in the Starcraft series and it's too bad they decided they were done with them after their appearance in Brood War. Of course, if they brought them back now they'd only ruin their image. Probably have them led by a Virginian or something.

What is there to explain? He dropped the mace because he no longer wanted it.

Well, first you need to mine minerals, build stuff, get some gas, build more stuff, until you can build battlecruisers, then you only build those and you win.
